NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirms the Texans "hope" to interview Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio for their general manager vacancy.
Per Rapsheet, there is "no firm word yet" on when or if the interview will happen. The Pats blocked the Texans' request to interview Caserio in 2018. Although Caserio would be getting a title upgrade and greater control than he has in New England, it would be a bit of a lateral move, as well as a risky one. Texans coach Bill O'Brien has failed to get along with each of his past two GMs in Houston.

Former Browns GM Ray Farmer is interviewing with the Texans this weekend, and McClain anticipates the rest to be at least considered for interviews. Reggie McKenzie's GM stint with the Raiders was very hit and miss, but it wouldn't be surprising to see McKenzie's name in consideration for future GM jobs. Since Bill O'Brien and Nick Caserio are close friends, McClain considers Caserio the top candidate.
