Who's available on the wire, and what options do you already have on your bench? I'm holding him because I don't know what his timetable is to return, and there's no one out there to really help me for the next 2-3 weeks.

I don't think he's a drop candidate until more news comes out about his return, but as mikeraphon said, it all depends on your league/situation/etc.

I was forced to drop him to get a TE for this week. Fairly unique circumstances though ur to a short bench and other considerations. If I had another option I would have hung on to him. He’s been productive and should only be out a week or two

Do we have any recent examples of a RB with a broken hand coming back in a few weeks after surgery?

Just a guess, but seems more like we don't see Mack again until week 16 or 17

I put him on IR but if I couldn’t I would still hang on to him till a timetable is more clear

Marlon Mack (hand) was a full participant at Thursday's practice.

It's an upgrade from Wednesday's limited session. Mack appears on track to return from a two-game absence. He should slot in at the Colts' immediate workhorse, rendering Jonathan Williams, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines as fantasy non-factors. It's a tough matchup for Mack—only the Jets have yielded fewer rushing yards per game than the Bucs—though he can still be counted on as an RB2 for the first week of the fantasy postseason.

I have the luxury of seeing how this plays out due to first round bye. Would you roll him right out? The workload should return but who knows how this plays out.
