Darrell Henderson cleared waivers. No idea how.
Would you drop Mattison (insurance) for him?

My RB’s
D.Cook, J.Jacobs, J.Taylor, JK Dobbins, A. Mattison, J. Kelley

I was able to snag freeman and Henderson. Not bad after loosing Barkley I’d say.

I wouldn't. Mattison is a great handcuff for Cook, and you've got other solid backs.

Thanks for quick reply ... yeah I agree. While I think Henderson is solid this week, he’s not playing over others, and Could just be RBBC all year.

There's a time and a place to cuff - that ain't September. Right now you're trying to accumulate as many assets as possible and your capabilities are capped by having 2 backs from the same offense. I'd throw the dart at Henderson.

Well shoot. Does this Volume logic apply just to RB? Looking at the roster, I currently don’t need as much help at RB (please no jinx) — but w/ Golladay dinged I only have 2 reliable WR’s (Ridley/Metcalf) — so would you cut Mattison for Viska who’s also avail?

No, my default 12 team redraft strategy pre bye weeks is to only have RB and WR on the bench - and it would take a unique circumstance for me to double up on the same team. There are always exceptions to the rule (I grabbed Goedert as a 2nd TE in both of mine) and a 3rd QB is a must in 2 QB leegs, but that's my starting point. I'll handcuff once we start to come out from the other side of the byes. Til then upside and volume reign supreme.

Ok good deal. Yeah I tend to have similar strategy... Sounds like others do as well, have seen both Latavius Murray and Tony Pollard dropped this AM for flavors of the week.

Yep - the cuffs drafted in August that aren't needed end up getting dumped in September and October. Don't get me wrong, I drafted cuffs (still have some too) - but they were/are other teams cuffs. Plan was/is to dump them as shiny toys became available if they didn't become shiny toys themselves.

Is this riskier? Absolutely, but my goal is not to have the best team right now; it's to have the best team come December. I think that's best accomplished with this approach.

no. I have CMC and I passed on Davis. that team, other than CMC is terrible. I picked up McK instead. they lost both RBs in front of him, and hopefully Freeman goes elsewhere.

Seems like a bad move.

The 49ers offense without Mostert, with Garoppolo and Kittle banged up and questionable, and with a bad group of receivers, is worse than Carolina's. I'd take an average back likely to get a lot of volume (Davis) for the Panthers over betting on McKinnon, who has missed the last two full seasons with injuries, to stay healthy and effectively carry a useful load in San Francisco.

The absence of anyone to throw to, would help, but I just don't trust Davis.

Either way, I'm not picking up either of them to start for my team (I did pick up McK but as a bench stash).

Does KJ Hamler have any value with Sutton done? I know Denver has major warts at this point but being desperate at WR I'm looking anywhere for production

I picked up Hamler. He looked fully healthy and more explosive than every player on the field. Always intrigued by someone who doesn't need 10 targets to deliver in your lineup. With Sutton gone and Jeudy banged up, I'm stashing Hamler now that I don't miss the potential breakout.
