This is extremely similar to what my 4-3 team is looking at, including the description you gave of the 6-1 team leading the way. H2H is always going to be luck-based, some years it works out and some it doesn't.
It was fun to give this a shot. I think we're allowed to do something "wild" in fantasy every decade!
Being very active/successful on the wire always makes a huge difference, but it's also part of the exact same reason that you can likely wait on QB with a high degree of success (for more or less the same reason it works for K/DST though a less extreme example).

Side note: This experiment is over for me. I dropped LJax last week. I have Herbert and Tanny, and will ride out the season playing matchups. LJax cleared waivers with no one picking him up. In my league's scoring system, Herbert is currently #6, Tanny #8, and LJax is #19 (average scoring).
I am currently 4-4 in that league. There is a 7-1 team. Given all variables that I won't get into here, I am still optimistic about my season (assuming we make it a full season), but if I manage to win, it will be decidedly NOT due to LJax....

Interesting, appreciate the updates. Up to 5-3 in my one decent one (0-8 in the other), with prospects looking good. Still going with Lamar. Hoping this week or next are when he finally gets rolling, but that may be a mistake. Thankfully the rest of the roster is covering.

If Lamars rushing floor becomes 60-70 yards 0.5 TDs (which is very likely)

He was pretty efficient against a good Colts defense, and if he can churn out 200+2 through the air...You're looking at 25 a game a right there.
I know even projecting that much passing success seems difficult, but they are going to wreck so many bad teams in the second half. Brown and Andrews will have some games. There is light at the end of this tunnel.
