I thought about that the possibility of giving Darnold another year but the problem with that is they have to pick up his option for his 5th year this offseason and if that doesn’t work, it wastes another year of the Douglas regime.

Not sure if he is going to want to do that on a QB he didn’t draft.

I think you've gotta just re-roll the dice with Lawrence (or Fields, who has really upped his game this year).

Maybe Darnold isn't the sole problem.. but he is part of it. Hopefully he figures things out down the road, but you can't just continue to sink years of your franchise on that hope when you're positioned to draft a relatively high hit rate prospect.

Jets waived CB Pierre Desir.

Douglas has whiffed on a lot of moves like this (especially on O-line) but at least they are low cost/low risk moves for the most part. But still, not good. Makes me a little nervous when he starts spending real money next offseason.

I still like this draft class he had though. We’ll see how it develops.

It's not that bad. In the past 25 years, every single coach not named Gase has enjoyed at least one winning season.

Gase will join Kotite atop the Jets list of most embarrassing coaches.
