public statements say they're going into this process with wide open eyes and intend to let the process organically play out. they're not fixated on necessarily hiring one or the other first. those are the public statements.
i think the hiring of spielman for a somewhat unconventional but evolving full time role could be seen as an example of that. dan campbell seems interesting if only in that it'd be somewhat of a homecoming and he's been showing some coaching chops for a few years now. in the end, it'll be the same tire fire in different clothes until proven otherwise.
re: stafford. i hope he stays. i hope he finishes his career as a lion, but that's me being selfish. the best thing that could happen to him would be to get traded to a contender on his team friendly contract and finally have a real chance to make a run at a championship. objectively, there's merit in either decision. just depends on what the vision of the new HC and FO is.
