What is with the sudden antipathy toward Kirk Cousins? I know his line is tattered, his team is out of contention, and his last game wasn't good.
However, there seems to be a dramatic overreaction to a one-week sample. In my 6-pt TD league, Cousins is the #6 QB this year, and here are the stat lines for his last 5 games in my league:
Week 10 (MIN): 327 PaYds, 1 Int, 5 RuYds, 1 PaTD, 2 RuTD = 33.85
Week 11 (NO): 322 PaYds, 0 Int, 11 RuYds, 3 PaTD = 35.20
Week 12 (NYG): 242 PaYds, 1 Int, 4 RuYds, 2 PaTD = 23.50
Week 13 (DAL): 252 PaYds, 2 Int, 1 FL, 6 RuYds, 2 PaTD = 22.15
Week 14 (LAC): 151 PaYds, 1 Int, 8 RuYds, 1 PaTD = 13.35
Overall, he's thrown for 240+ yards in 10 of 13 games, and accounted for 2 or more TD's in 8 games, including 4 of the last 5.
In his worst games (Weeks 1, 2, 8, 9, 14), he's still managed no fewer than 11.75 points, and four of those defenses in those games (PHI, LAR, SEA, LAC) being ranked in the top 11 vs. QB's.
Arizona is #19 and Denver #14 vs. QB's in out scoring, middle of the pack, and neither are division rivals. Jordan Reed hasn't played since Week 8 (and had only delivered one fantasy-impact game to that point), so his being placed on IR doesn't change anything. I'm not saying his situation is perfect, but the experts have turned on him very fast.
I'm going to play him Week 15 over Andy Dalton and Jimmy Garoppolo, with a team that is pretty strong at every other position. I would just like for someone to explain how Cousins went from "dependable QB1" to "you can't possibly consider starting him" so fast, because I'm not seeing it.
