HAFAX – Week 3

OK everyone take your left hand and your right hand and clap them together.  Now do it again, and again, and again, faster, faster.  As you continue to clap, stand up.  Thank you for the standing ovation!

Yes, congratulations are in order as your Fantasy Sharks HAFAX franchise is in the win column.  This week we beat a division foe, Fantasy Draftware 178.0 – 142.0.  This win was particularly sweet because during the drafting process, our opponent became a natural rival.  Our record is now 1-1 and this week we face another division rival, Keeper Fantasy Leagues who are 0-2.

Our offense is strong and is anchored by RBs Marshall Faulk and Fred Taylor.  Neither has had a big week so far, so we continue to watch for them to break out.  Our WRs this week are Ike Hilliard and Tai Streets, with Joey Galloway on bye week and Donald Driver still out with an injury.  Our TE is Todd Heap, our PK is John Carney and our Punter is Craig Hentrich.

We have decided to go with QB Patrick Ramsey this week.  One of the nice things about HAFAX is that we have 6 people working together to run the franchise and everyone can bounce ideas off each other.  Tony has a gut feeling (see The Prognosticator) that Patrick will have a big week and we all agree to give him a shot.

Our defense continues to improve as we made a nice free agent pickup of rookie DB Ken Hamlin of Seattle.  He will start along with Robert Griffith of Cleveland.  At LB, Mike Barrow of the NY Giants has been huge for us so far.  He will start along with Darrin Smith of New Orleans.  Rounding out the defense will be DL Pat Williams of Buffalo and Kelly Gregg of Baltimore.

Our opponent is ready for another defeat this week.  They start Buffalo QB Drew Bledsoe and then need to select 4 players from this lot:  Peerless Price, Corey Dillon, Rod Smith, Shawn Bryson, Dane Looker, Tyrone Wheatley, and Taylor Jacobs.  It is not exactly a group that you should get worried about.  The rest of the team is OK, but if our roster plays like they should, it will be an easy week for a victory.

Go Team Sharks!
