IDP – Seadog Report – Week 12

Greetings from the world of IDP’s, you have found the Thanksgiving edition of the Seadog Report. As most of you know our IDP guru Seadog is on vacation, and I am filling in. Thanks again to Doug for the chance to do this, it has been a blast!

There were some outstanding performances in week 11, so lets review last weeks Top Dogs!

DL – Alex Brown CHI – 3 tackles 2 sacks 2 forced fumbles

& Adewale Ogunleye CHI – 3 tackles 1 assist 3 sacks: These 2 had Jake Delhomme begging for mercy this week. Man is that Bears defense tough or what?

DL – Derrick Burgess OAK – 4 tackles 2 sacks 1 forced fumble 1 fumble recovery: Another big game for Burgess, who has been a huge addition to the improved Raiders defensive line. His 2nd sack and the forced fumble on Mark Brunell won the game for Oakland this week.

LB – Jonathan Vilma NYJ – 11 tackles 2 assists 2 passes defended 1 forced fumble – Vilma is now an IDP God, and should be in your lineup every week. But this also illustrates a theory that has served me well with picking LB matchups: starting your LB’s vs Denver and San Diego is good. This point is further illustrated by:

LB – London Fletcher BUF – 9 tackles 7 assists – Back to back monster weeks for Fletcher, especially if your league gives points for assists.

DB Adrian Wilson ARI – 8 tackles 3 sacks 1 forced fumble – Wilson is a favorite of mine, and he rewarded his owners handsomely in week 11. Keep him in your lineup!

DB Eric Green ARI – 15 solo tackles – We don’t have to travel far to find our other top db. This is an aberration IMO, but the rookie cb deserves his props for piling up those kind of numbers vs the Rams.

Without further ado, here are my picks for week 12!

DL – Leonard Little STL vs Houston – The Texans line has played a little better in the past couple weeks, but Little will still get his on Sunday.

DL – Kyle Vanden Bosch TEN vs SF – Vanden Bosch should tear up the Niners line.

LB – Lemar Marshall WAS vs SD – Lemar will pile up the tackles vs Tomlinson this week. He had 8 solos and a pick that he returned for a TD vs Oakland last week, make sure you get him in your lineup.

LB – Channing Crowder MIA vs OAK – The rookie from Florida has already been putting up solid numbers at the OLB spot for Miami, but with Zach Thomas out word is Crowder will likely fill the MLB spot, which he played in college. I expect big things from him while Thomas is out.

DB – Darrent Williams DEN vs Dallas – A fine Turkey Day play, Williams is hot and Bledsoe is not. Look for Bledsoe to get picked a couple of times, and for Williams to get one of them.

DB – Eric Warfield KC vs NE – Look for Brady to throw all day long, Warfield will be a busy guy. Maybe no picks, but lots of tackles.

Now lets take a look at how things went in week 11 action in The Wall IDP only league. Headed down the stretch and things are tighter than ever!

Team Seadog (7-4) 200.5 The English Gentlemen (8-2-1) 117.5 – WOW!! Seadog was on vacation, and his team performed like Seadog was going to beat them when he got back if they didn’t win. His BENCH put up over 100 points! He got his revenge for the defeat I handed him earlier in the season. Jonathan Vilma led the way for Seadog, and as usual Demorrio Williams led my squad.

The Hussy Bus (6-5) 152.5 Team Gballs (4-7) 116 – The Hussy Bus rolls on, like that semi in Maximum Overdrive. My team just wet its collective self at the thought of having to face this juggernaut in week 12. The victors were led by Adrian Wilson and London Fletcher and Gballs’ squad was headed up by Donnie Edwards.

Andre the Giant Has A Killer D (7-4) 184.5 Cleffed’s Brooklyn Larceny (4-6-1) 151.5 Dgacks squad bounced back big time from their defeat in week 10 with a pounding of the fading Larceny team. The Giant was led by Lemar Marshall and Eric Warfield and Cleffed’s team was led by Shelton Quarles and Nick Harper.

Necessary Roughness #42 (6-5) 123.5 1985 Bears (5-6) 115 JBG’s team came back huge on MNF on the back of Aaron Kampman, who had a huge game. The Bears were led in defeat by Mike Peterson.

Decks Wrecks (5-6) 138 Paddlers Weapons of Mass Destruction (6-5) 107.5 Paddlers slide continues, as Decktard gets an important win. His team was led by Nate Clements and Jerimiah Trotter, while Paddlers lot got its production from Derrick Brooks and Nick Barnett.

LT800’s Chargers (4-7) 190 Not So Snazzy Panachevitz (3-8) 144 In the only game with no playoff implications, LT800’s team really put up some points. Derrick Burgess, Andra Davis and Ike Taylor had big games for the Chargers and Panachevitz was led by Marcus Washington.

Well that about wraps it up for this week, but I will leave you with this thought. A lot of people have emailed me lately asking for a list of players they should consider going after for the stretch run, and one name comes to my mind again and again, and that’s Jacksonville’s Mike Peterson. As most of you know the Jags have a very favorable schedule down the stretch and that goes for IDP’s too. I would pretty much trade any LB not named Vilma or Bullock to get Peterson for the playoffs.

That’s all for me folks, I wish you and yours a fantastic holiday!
