IDP Waiver Wire – Week 16

‘Twas Title Game Week, in IDP-Land,

Not many were stirring, not many did stand.

Most teams have been vanquished, most seasons are done.

For most IDP owners, there is no more fun.

Only two teams are left. Each has one more chance.

To win their league’s trophy and trash-talk and prance.

For these few hearty souls, there still burns a fire.

Of course, those teams are good. Most aren’t hitting the wire.

Did you lose Honey Badger to a torn ACL?

Go get his replacement, TJ will do swell.

A plug-in DL? Andre Branch just might do.

Jags DE has been hot. Nice matchup too.

The Dolphins defense is as bad is it gets.

And so Kelvin Sheppard keeps racking up stats.

A matchup corner? Amerson, Christmas Eve.

The young Oakland toast will make you believe.

If you believe that I just tripped and fell.

They call him toast cuz’ he don’t cover so well.

Mario Edwards will be in that game too.

He might be OK chasing down powder blue.

Gerald Hodges, San Fran, has replaced Mike Wilhoite.

His matchup ain’t great, but he could do all right.

In IDP Dynos at least, if you’re out of the race,

There still is a reason to stay on the case.

Time to clear off the bench. In goes young. Out goes old.

It’s time to get speculative. It’s time to get bold.

If your league doesn’t let owners stash on IR,

Then some valuable gems might be on the wire.

The Jags’ Dante Fowler. Philly’s Jordan Hicks.

Both could be in for some fun ‘16 tricks.

Diggy-O for the G-Men has been quiet this year.

Bigger role next season? Isn’t yet clear.

Unless you’re league’s deep, with oodles of slots.

Don’t go wasting them on defensive longshots.

On throwers! On catchers! On runners in stacks!

And for goodness sake stay clear of the defensive backs.

We’ve hit season’s end, good luck to all,

It’s been another great year, talking fantasy football.

And so I proclaim, with just the right bit of snark,

Happy Christmas to all, from this IDP Shark!

What? I’m a fantasy sportswriter. Not a poet.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
