MINNESOTA 9 – NEW ORLEANS 17

Minnesota – The Vikings went three-and-out on their opening possession and were plagued by penalties which stalled their second drive. They drove down on their third possession and kicked a field goal. They went three-and-out before driving down the field and scoring on a 20 yard touchdown pass to Visanthe Shiancoe with their last possession of the first half. The Saints’ defense stiffened in the second half and shut them down for the rest of the game. They had five second half possessions that resulted in three three-and-outs and two stalled drives that ended in punts.

Fantasy Impact – They ran 1 play in 1 red zone possession and had 1 touchdown for a 100% red zone efficiency rate.

Visante Shiancoe had 7 targets, 3 were deep, 1 in red zone and had big receptions for 33 yards and a 20 yard TD.

Percy Harvin had 1 rush and 5 targets, 2 were deep.

Bernard Berrian had 3 targets, 1 was deep.

Greg Camarillo had 2 targets both deep and had a big reception for 29 yards.

Greg Lewis had 2 targets.

Adrian Peterson had 19 rushes and 3 targets.

New Orleans – The Saints took the opening kickoff and scored on a 29 yard touchdown pass to Devery Henderson. The Vikings’ defense shut down the Saints for the rest of the first half, holding them to just seven yards in the second quarter. They took their first possession in the second half and drove down the field, ending in a 1-yard touchdown run by Pierre Thomas. Out of eleven possessions, they scored touchdowns on two drives, missed field goals on two drives and four times they went three downs and out.

Fantasy Impact – They ran 5 plays in 2 red zone possessions and had 1 touchdown for a 50% red zone efficiency rate.

Marques Colston had 6 targets, 2 were deep and had a big reception for 28 yards.

Devery Henderson had 4 targets, 2 were deep and had a big reception for a 29 yard TD.

Robert Meachem had 4 targets, 1 was deep, 1 in red zone and had a big reception for 26 yards.

David Thomas had 4 targets, 1in red zone.

Jeremy Shockey had 3 targets.

Pierre Thomas had 19 rushes and 3 targets, 3 in red zone and had a big reception for 15 yards and a 1 yard TD.

INDIANAPOLIS 24 – HOUSTON 34

Indianapolis Peyton Manning completed 40 passes on a career-high 57 attempts for 433 yards with three touchdowns in the losing effort. They went three-and-out on their first possession and stalled out on their next three drives with all three ending in punts. An interception led to a 14-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne and they kicked a field goal on their last two possessions of the first half. In the second half, their first possession ended in a punt and Pierre Garcon lost a fumble inside the red zone on their next drive. Their last two possessions led to a 10 yard touchdown pass to Dallas Clark and a 73-yard touchdown pass to Austin Collie but it was not enough to overcome the Texans.

Fantasy Impact – They ran 10 plays in 3 red zone possessions and had 2 touchdowns for a 67% red zone efficiency rate.

Dallas Clark had 13 targets, 1 was deep, 1 in red zone and had a big reception for a 10 yard TD.

Pierre Garcon had 11 targets, 2 were deep, 3 in red zone and had a big reception for 26 yards.

Austin Collie had 11 targets, 1 was deep and had a big reception for a 73 yard TD.

Reggie Wayne had 10 targets, 4 were deep, 1 in red zone and had big receptions for 19, 19, 22 yards and a 14 yard TD.

Houston – The Texans ran for a franchise record 257 yards and Arian Foster led the way with a team record 231 yards and three touchdowns. Their first three possessions resulted in two field goals and a 22 yard touchdown pass to Kevin Walter. After an interception they went three-and-out, before kneeling down to close out the first half. In the second half, they took three out of their next four possessions and scored on touchdown runs by Foster of 1 yard, 25 yards and 8 yards.

Fantasy Impact – They ran 14 plays in 3 red zone possessions and had 2 touchdowns for a 67% red zone efficiency rate.

Jacoby Jones had 6 targets, 2 in red zone and had a big reception for 23 yards.

Andre Johnson had 5 targets, 3 were deep, 1 in red zone and had a big reception for 21 yards.

Kevin Walter had 2 targets both deep and had a big reception for a 22 yard TD.

Owen Daniels had 2 targets, 1 in red zone.

Arian Foster had 33 rushes and 1 target, 10 in red zone and had big runs for 42 yards and a 1, 8 and 25 yard TD’s.

Steve Slaton had 6 rushes.

 

CLEVELAND 14 – TAMPA BAY 17

Cleveland – Early on the Browns were in control and moving the ball at will. They scored touchdowns on two of their first four possessions, a 41 yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Massaquoi and a 10 yard touchdown by Peyton Hillis. Jake Delhomme was trying to build on a 14 – 3 lead before halftime when he threw an interception and the team just was not the same after that. They missed on a field goal right before halftime. On their first possession in the second half, Hillis fumbled inside the red zone. They went three-and-out on their next four possessions and then Delhomme threw another interception before turning the ball over on downs on the next possession. When they got the ball back on their final possession they ran out of time as the game ended.

Mohamed Massaquoi had 6 targets, 3 were deep and had a big reception for a 41 yard TD.

Ben Watson had 1 rush and 6 targets, 1 was deep.

Evan Moore had 5 targets, 2 were deep and had big receptions for 16, 22 and 49 yards.

Chansi Stuckey had 5 targets, 1 was deep.

Josh Cribbs had 3 rushes and 2 targets.

Tampa Bay – The Buccaneers were not having much success moving the ball in the first half. They only managed one field goal on five possessions before the interception set up a 3-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Mike Williams. On their opening possession of the second half they went three-and-out, and then stalled on their next three possessions with all of them ending in punts. After another Delhomme interception they scored on a 33-yard touchdown pass to Micheal Spurlock. On the next possession they drove down inside the red zone only to see Earnest Graham fumble the ball away. On their final possession they went three-and-out.

Fantasy Impact – They ran 4 plays in 3 red zone possessions and had 1 touchdown for a 33% red zone efficiency rate.

Mike Williams had 9 targets, 6 were deep, 1 in red zone and had big receptions for 17 yards and a 3-yard TD.

Kellen Winslow had 6 targets, 1 was deep and had a big reception for 22 yards.

Sammie Stroughter had 5 targets, 2 were deep and had a big reception for 18 yards.

Micheal Spurlock had 4 targets, 3 were deep and had big receptions for 16 yards and a 33 yard TD.

Cadillac Williams had 22 rushes and 2 targets, 1 in red zone and had a big reception for 20 yards and a big run for 20 yards.
