THE LOWDOWN: Week 10

Welcome to The Lowdown for Week 10. This is my little corner of the fantasy football universe — feel free to pull up a chair and stay a while!

Enough Already

I’ve had enough of the Ezekiel Elliott situation. Time for the Cowboys to shut the RB down, have him serve the six games and be ready for a playoff run. This on again, off again stuff is not just frustrating, it is a questionable strategy on the part of Elliott and the Cowboys. Have him do his time now– he’ll rest up and the Cowboys will likely grab a wildcard spot, leaving a fresh Elliott in a great position to help his team go deep in to the post-season.

Teams on Bye this week: Chiefs, Eagles, Raiders, Ravens.

Interesting Players for This Week

Straight from the flawless algorithms of Mighty Max come the top match-ups at every offensive position for this weekend’s games…

Quarterbacks

  1. Dak Prescott – DAL (vs. ATL) : 100.00
  2. Tom Brady – NEP (vs. DEN) : 96.31
  3. Matthew Stafford – DET (vs. CLE) : 87.76
  4. Kirk Cousins – WAS (vs. MIN) : 84.42
  5. Jared Goff – LAR (vs. HOU) : 83.76
  6. Drew Brees – NOS (vs. BUF) : 82.43
  7. Tyrod Taylor – BUF (vs. NOS) : 80.05
  8. Cam Newton – CAR (vs. MIA) : 79.92
  9. Josh McCown – NYJ (vs. TBB) : 78.11
  10. Matt Ryan – ATL (vs. DAL) : 76.97
  11. Eli Manning – NYG (vs. SFO) : 75.05
  12. C.J. Beathard – SFO (vs. NYG) : 73.27
  13. Marcus Mariota – TEN (vs. CIN) : 70.98
  14. Ben Roethlisberger – PIT (vs. IND) : 68.65
  15. Philip Rivers – LAC (vs. JAC) : 66.04

Matthew Stafford has been authoring some incredible fourth-quarter comebacks the past two seasons, putting up some healthy fantasy numbers in the process. I just wish he’d put forth his typical 4th-quarter heroics in every quarter… will this be the final start of the season for Eli Manning? If the Giants lose to the 49ers this weekend, I have a feeling it’ll be the Davis Webb show in New York.

Running Backs

  1. Todd Gurley – LAR (vs. HOU) : 100.00
  2. Leonard Fournette – JAC (vs. LAC) : 97.61
  3. Le’Veon Bell – PIT (vs. IND) : 94.75
  4. Melvin Gordon – LAC (vs. JAC) : 82.84
  5. LeSean McCoy – BUF (vs. NOS) : 74.37
  6. Mark Ingram – NOS (vs. BUF) : 71.08
  7. Carlos Hyde – SFO (vs. NYG) : 68.76
  8. Lamar Miller – HOU (vs. LAR) : 67.03
  9. Devonta Freeman – ATL (vs. DAL) : 63.97
  10. Christian McCaffrey – CAR (vs. MIA) : 63.88
  11. Jordan Howard – CHI (vs. GBP) : 62.71
  12. Alvin Kamara – NOS (vs. BUF) : 54.79
  13. Aaron Jones – GBP (vs. CHI) : 53.23
  14. Jerick McKinnon – MIN (vs. WAS) : 53.05
  15. Chris Thompson – WAS (vs. MIN) : 52.29
  16. DeMarco Murray – TEN (vs. CIN) : 45.87
  17. C.J. Anderson – DEN (vs. NEP) : 45.75
  18. Frank Gore – IND (vs. PIT) : 45.26
  19. Joe Mixon – CIN (vs. TEN) : 44.45
  20. Doug Martin – TBB (vs. NYJ) : 43.83
  21. Duke Johnson – CLE (vs. DET) : 43.52
  22. Isaiah Crowell – CLE (vs. DET) : 42.32
  23. Orleans Darkwa – NYG (vs. SFO) : 42.13
  24. Ameer Abdullah – DET (vs. CLE) : 41.13
  25. Tarik Cohen – CHI (vs. GBP) : 38.79

I’ll be interested in seeing the match-up between Jerick McKinnon and LB Zach Brown; Brown is the Redskins’ best LB, so I’m betting that he’ll be acting as a spy of sorts on the explosive McKinnon… Duke Johnson has been a  steady performer in PPR leagues, but backfield mate Isaiah Crowell has been steadily producing better games over the past month; he might be a nice pick up as an RB stash.
