Mickey’s Pick$ and Pa$$es

Just a quick few hits for the weekend games. Still digesting all the turkey and stuffing.

This weeks gems:
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh (-3)
Cincinnati has looked terrific lately. Can you believe they are actually selling play-off tickets already! They move the ball at will and the defense does enough to get the job done. Pittsburgh on the other hand capitlized on 5 turnovers and still only put up 13 points on the Browns last week. No way with the division on the line does the Bengals let this one get away for them. Take Cinci (+3) on the road. And look for an outright win. The line is just on the wrong side here. (5 stars)

Tennessee @ New York Jets (+1)
Let’s talk a poke at the Monday night game. Tennessee is one of the best in the NFL and playing to keep pace with the Colts.  The problem is whether or not McNair will play.  The Jets have been a bit resurgent with Pennington back. But couldn’t move the ball at all last week. I just don’t see how Tennessee loses this game with or without McNair. Go with the Titans -1, (3 stars)

In Vinnie’s absence, let’s look at a tease or two. There are 3 teams that seem very teasable (is that a word) to me. They are:

NE (+4) @ IND They are playing great football, especially in the final minutes of a game. I am not sure they are going to win in IND, but teasing them up to +10 seems reasonably safe.

PHI (+1.5) @CAR – Another team that is surging, but has a tough away matchup this week. Teasing them to +7.5 against CAR offense seems like another good play.

KC (-7) @SD – At first glance, I thought this was a no brainier. KC will easily beat SD right? But not so fast. SD (and Doug Flutie) seem to play well at home and LT should be able to run against KC. As long as KC does not get off to a fast start, I think SD will keep it close and maybe even sneak a win in. Teasing KC down to -1 sounds better, but I think I have just talked myself out of this.

So, the Tease of the week is:
NE +10
PHI +7.5

Who doesn’t want to bet on teams with 7 and 6 game win streaks (and get > a touchdown to boot)?

In Summary:
Cincinnati +3 (5 stars)
Tennessee -1 (3 stars)
Tease NE+10, PHI+7.5 (3 stars)

G’Luck Mickey!
