NFL DRAFT STOCK WATCH: Midseason 2018 Mock Draft

We are halfway through the season and some teams are already starting to look at the offseason to hopefully turn around. Let’s take a look at the Top 10 and possible prospects that will be taken in the Top 10. Let’s dive in!

#1. Cleveland Browns – Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

The Browns may not win a game this season so expect them to clean house from management all the way down to the coaching staff. Who they decide to become head coach will be very interesting. Who in the NFL would want that job? It may be a college coach looking to make the transition to the NFL. Jackson will be a game-breaker at quarterback with his athletic ability. There is a legitimate concern about his frame size and if it can hold up in the NFL. Expect the Browns to try and take a different approach to building their team around the quarterback position. Jackson could be the next quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

#2. San Francisco 49ers – Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

With the acquisition of Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers have their franchise quarterback in place before the draft. Now they need to add pieces for coach Kyle Shanahan to create an explosive offense. There is not a more explosive player in the draft than Barkley. He can do it all and is an electric player with the ball in his hands. Shanahan can find many ways to make him an all-pro running back as a rookie.

#3. Arizona Cardinals (Trade with Indianapolis) – Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

The Cardinals will need to think about the future after this season and will look for Carson Palmer’s successor. Allen may be the quarterback that finally peaks coach Bruce Arians’ interest. He has a cannon for an arm and is a true gunslinger. Arians has done very well mentoring young quarterbacks in his years in the NFL and will believe he can make Allen a solid franchise man for the Cardinals. He can sit behind Palmer for a season while he develops and then be ready to lead the franchise moving forward.

#4. New York Giants – Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

The Giants really bombed this season after having such high hopes. They desperately need some quality offensive lineman and McGlinchey is a quality prospect. If they trade Eli Manning this offseason, this could be a different pick.

#5. Chicago Bears – Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU

The Bears seemed to have found a solid young quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky, but he has no one to throw to in their offense. Sutton is a stud with great size and could be an elite receiver in the league. He is a great weapon for a young quarterback to have.

NFL Draft: 1st Round Scenarios

There is no way that Saquon Barkley drops below #7 overall to the Buccaneers who have been needing a reliable running back for the past few years. If he is not off the board by the seventh pick, he'll be packing his bags for Tampa.
