Our 3rd Message Board Whale Shark!!

Congrats Supersock69 on becoming our 3rd Whale Shark (1000 messages) on the Msg Boards!! Like MatheuOfVa you’ve been another guy that has hit the message boards hard right out of the blocks.
Actually, MattheuOfVa is the one who got me on the boards. It’s great though, I love seeing what people have to say and giving my input back when it’s needed. I usually just leave on the site and refresh it throughout the day. Ahh, life in college.

So tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? How old are you..etc..etc.. What’s a typical day for you like?
I’m from Springfield VA, went to the same HS as Matt even. Usually I get up and go to class, first class and check the boards in between. Being a music student doesn’t yield too much homework, so I can hit the boards up and play video games, the keyboard, and tap all day. Life is good.

How about that quote of yours. What’s the history here? (“If you put things off ’till the last minute, they only take a minute to do.)
Actually I first saw it on a friend’s poster here at college, and sadly, it’s sort of my life’s philosophy. Needless to say, I wasn’t the hardest working student in HS, and often ended up staying up late into the night working on an assignment that was given several weeks ago. I just thought it was wholly appropriate for me.

So, how long have you been participating in Fantasy Football?
4 years. I went two years at sandbox, or as me and my friends call it, FF for dummies, and then switched to yahoo to be my league commish.

And how many leagues are you involved in?
I’m only in one, I like to keep the focus narrow. That way I don’t have to juggle who I’m pulling for in different leagues and be cheering for Priest because he’s in one of my teams, and against him at the same time if he isn’t on the other.

Team Name(s)
D.C. Paratroopas. (I go to Catholic, the Cardinals, Maryland Terps are the closest D1 school, so a Terp and a Cardinal combined make a Paratroopa from the Mario games.)

So what do you think your best and worst pick of the year was?
Well, my first pick being Michael Vick, I’m still waiting for that to yield results. I drafted Harrison second round and he’s been putting up the points, that’s got to be the best. Worst had to be all of my WR’s besides Harrison (Keyshawn Johnson, Rod Smith, Joey Galloway.)

Cool. How about some NFL questions now. How about who’s your NFL team?
Dallas Cowboys Baby!!! 5-1! Who would’ve guessed. They were the first superbowl I ever watched, and I’ve loved them ever since. Plus my parents are Redskins fans, and of course I had to rebel.

And your favorite NFL Player?
All time, Tony Dorsett. Right now, I really like McNabb. I’m waiting for him to pull out of his funk. Others: Vick, Moulds, Portis, Roy Williams, Antonio Bryant (my prospect).

Any one particular player surprise you this year?
Actually, I traded for Holmes and didn’t think he could overcome his hip/age. Happily surprised. Boldin too, where did this kid come from, I mean, he’s doing good on the Cards!? Crazy!

Great. Let’s talk about FantasySharks.com a bit. How did you come to find us?
I was in the office with MattOfVa, doing “work” and/or reading the FF Index, and I saw your site in a mock draft. We went to every site in the draft and found yours. Matt got into it first, but then got me into the forums and I haven’t really left them yet.

How about your favorite FantasySharks feature or article?
I really like the Coach Lineup Feature, where it says projections and who to start. I don’t always agree, but it’s definitely good to get your guys’ perspective.

Ok. On to the message boards. What do you think of the advice people give? Has it helped you this year?
I actually don’t ask for advice that often. I made my most important trade before entering the boards (Holmes for Bledsoe!!!) and asked for lineup help a couple times. It’s really good to see what people think about who should start, sit, be dropped or picked up. Uber helpful.

Any particular poster that you respect the most?
Matt of course is my bud, but there are just some guys that always catch my eye. I found Briwoll and I agree nearly all the time. But Paddler, Hard 10, Dr. GoogleMover, and Hemol are definitely some of my favs. Longhorns76 is funny too.

Great. Last question. Still going to be with us at 2000 posts?
You know it! 2000, 3000, 4000, so long as there are questions, I’ll have my answers and opinions!

Thanks again for being such an active poster on the message boards! And congratulations on becoming a Whale Shark!!
