Top 5 Pick ‘Em
Season Record: 22-17-1
Philadelphia -7.5 (vs. Denver) – Philadelphia has covered the spread in all of its last five home games while Denver has a goose-egg in its last five road games. It turns out Brock Osweiler is getting the start as well, which will not change much for Denver’s struggling offense.
Los Angeles Rams -3.5 (at New York Giants) – The Rams have been one of the biggest surprises this year and remain undefeated on the road. Eli Manning and his ragtag bunch of receivers will be in trouble this Sunday as the Rams pass defense ranks only behind Jacksonville and Baltimore. To make matters worse, the Giants will be without their star cornerback, Janoris Jenkins.
Buffalo -3 (at New York Jets) – Buffalo is undefeated this season when rushing for more than 100 yards and coincidentally, the Jets are surrendering 128 rushing yards per game. Only the now suspended Ezekiel Elliott has out-gained LeSean McCoy over the last few weeks.
Jacksonville -4.5 (vs. Cincinnati) – Cincinnati is struggling to run the ball despite all of the talent it has in the backfield, so it is doubtful that it will be able to capitalize on Jacksonville’s weak run defense. Jacksonville is in the interesting spot of having the league’s best pass defense and worst run defense. Once Jacksonville gains a lead the run defense doesn’t matter, as it can control the clock with Leonard Fournette and shut down any comeback attempts.
Kansas City EVEN (at Dallas) – Ezekiel Elliott amassed 373 total yards and five touchdowns in the past two games for Dallas. Needless to say, he will be missed. The Kansas City and Dallas defenses are striking similar, ranked right next to each other in pass defense (19/20) and rush defense (30/31). This game will be Kareem Hunt against Alfred Morris, in which I take Kareem Hunt every day of the week.
Top Survivor Picks
Jacksonville (vs. Cincinnati) – See above. The Jacksonville defense is ranked No. 1 through eight weeks and is coming off of a bye week.
Los Angeles Rams (@ New York Giants) – See above. This is a matchup nightmare for Eli Manning.
Houston (vs. Indianapolis) – This is a division game and 40 percent of selections have Houston.
