PICK’EM & SURVIVOR: Week 13

Top 5 Pick ‘Em

Season record: 28-32

Denver -5 (@ Cincinnati) – Last week, the Bengals were penalized an alarmingly 13 times. Jeff Driskel is getting his first NFL start against a top-ranked Broncos defense who just held the Steelers to 17 yards. I would pick Denver -5 even if Andy Dalton was playing.

New York Jets +9 (@ Tennessee) – The Titans should not be favored by nine points over anyone. While both offenses rank in the bottom six in the league, the Jets at least have a Top-15 defense. This game will be messy and low scoring.

Tampa Bay +3.5 (vs. Carolina) – Jameis Winston has a delightful matchup against the 26th ranked swiss cheese defense of the Panthers. NFC South games are usually close to begin with, but the Panthers are reeling after losing outright in two games they were favored in.

Buffalo +5.5 (@ Miami) – The Bills have been able to do one thing consistently this year, and that is to play well against a team with a bad offense. The Dolphins are 1-4 in their last five games with the sole win coming against the Jets.

Los Angeles Rams -10 (@ Detroit) – Missing Marvin Jones and Kerryon Johnson will put too much weight on Matthew Stafford to keep up with the Rams. Hot off a bye and getting to play in a dome, give the Rams all the ingredients for an offensive onslaught against the league’s 30th ranked defense.

Top Survivor Pick

Green Bay (vs. Arizona) – The Packers haven’t been a great pick at any point this year and this is certainly the last opportunity. Aaron Rodgers may not look like himself but losing to this Cardinals team at Lambeau would an ultimate low.

Survivor Avoid

Tennessee (vs. New York Jets) – See above. The Titans are the third most popular pick this week.
