PICK’EM & SURVIVOR: Week 3

Top 5 Pick ‘Em

Season Record: 4-6

Cincinnati +3 (@ Carolina) – The Bengals are off to a surprising 2-0 start and just lost their starting running back Joe Mixon for a few weeks. The good news for them is that the Panthers offensive line is in shambles and their secondary isn’t good enough to sustain a big lead. Don’t let the impressive pass defense stats through the first two weeks fool you. Even A mediocre Andy Dalton and Giovanni Bernard can keep this game close.

Jacksonville -6.5 (vs. Tennessee) – The Jaguars are hungry and their defense is playing at an elite level. The Titans offensive line and quarterbacks are not as they are banged up. Blake Bortles was exceptional last week and he can elevate his team to another level if he can keep it up.

Seattle -2.5 (vs. Dallas) – The Seahawks may not be the same team they were during their Super Bowl runs, but the home field advantage at CenturyLink Field will always be a factor. Dak Prescott always struggles on the road and he is currently leaning solely on Ezekiel Elliott.

Chicago -4 (@ Arizona) – Poor David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Two studs and a bunch of scrubs stand behind only the Bills for the worst team in the league. Sam Bradford has a career record of 34-47-1. It is incredible that he is still a starting quarterback.

Kansas City -5.5 (vs. San Francisco) – Welcome aboard the Pat Mahomes bandwagon! The Jimmy Garoppolo fan club is looking mighty thin, and rightfully so. Andy Reid is known for having one of the best teams in the early part of the season and the trend will continue this weekend.

Top Survivor Picks
Minnesota (vs. Buffalo) – Unfortunately it just makes sense to mail it in this week. I rarely pick the heavy favorites, but the next best options are either division games or the favorites are on the road.

Survivor Avoid
New England (@ Detroit) – The Patriots are the fourth most popular pick this week. While you shouldn’t overreact to a road loss in Jacksonville, save the Pats for a game when Julian Edelman is back and Josh Gordon is more comfortable with the offense.
