Season Projections
The New England Patriots were a perpetual motion machine of player movement on both sides of the ball in 2017, adding pass-rusher Kony Ealy and cornerback Stephon Gilmore to the defense. The Pats now have talent at every level of the defense. They don't have an 'elite' pass-rusher, but what the Pats do have is a steady stream of bodies to rotate in and out. The linebacker corps is anchored by Dont'a Hightower, who the team re-signed. And the secondary is loaded with Gilmore joining Pro Bowlers Malcolm Butler and Devin McCourty. The New England offense is going to put opponents in catch-up mode with regularity, and that's going to open up opportunities for big plays.
