Season Projections
Despite his awesome physical talents, Allen is considered a boom-or-bust developmental project, but that didn't stop the Buffalo Bills from trading up to select him with the seventh overall pick in this year's draft. Easily passing the eye test, Allen is big like Carson Wentz (Eagles), owns a cannon for an arm and possesses some dynamic 4.61 wheels. However, Allen failed to dominate with his arm in the Mountain West Conference, struggling with accuracy (56.2 percent completions), timing and touch. His footwork and mechanics also need some fine tuning. Since Allen's main competition, A.J. McCarron, suffered a broken right collarbone in the team's second preseason outing and won't return until mid-October at the earliest, the rookie signal caller is in the driver's seat to start in Week 1. Allen's level of play in preseason action has been surprisingly solid overall, and he has only second-year pro Nathan Peterman (two career starts) as a challenger. While Allen is worth a look as a backup in two quarterback leagues, keep in mind that he's operating with a rebuilt offensive line and one of the NFL's weaker overall collections of playmakers that includes LeSean McCoy, Kelvin Benjamin, Charles Clay, Corey Coleman and Jeremy Kerley.

Passing: 195 Yards, 0 TD, 1 INT.
Rushing: 40 Yards, 1 TD.
