Fantasy Analysis
Season Projections
Although many regarded him as a nice fit for a pass-happy New Orleans offense that helped aging 30-something Ben Watson crank out the best numbers of his career (74-825-6) two years ago, Fleener didn't light it up during his first season in the Big Easy. It's a little hard to believe that he wrapped up 2016 as the TE12 in non-PPR and as the TE16 in PPR. Fleener struggled with dropped passes, consistency and the playbook. His best outings usually came at the Superdome, but the sixth-year pro's weekly catch totals ranged from a low of one to a high of seven. By the way, Fleener lost snaps to backup Josh Hill before Hill landed on injured reserve late in the season. Nevertheless, Fleener looks like a safe bet for a rebound. He gets another offseason to wrap his brain around the Saints playbook and work with Drew Brees. In addition New Orleans will need Fleener more this season since lid lifter Ted Ginn isn't going to be able to vacuum up all the targets that Brandin Cooks left behind. Fleener is worth the gamble as a platoon fantasy TE2 option.

Receiving: 50 Receptions, 450 Yards, 3 TD.
