Fantasy Analysis
Week 12 Projections
Fitz-magic could start, finish, fill-in, or anything else in between. It all depends on how Tua looks, if his first pass is an interception, in goes Fitzpatrick in a dream matchup.
Passing: 205 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT.
Rushing: 12 Yards, 0 TD.

Season Projections
It'll be a surprise if Fitzpatrick isn't the guy under center for Miami in Week 1. He'll likely start at least a few games - possibly more. Rookie fifth overall selection Tua Tagovailoa is coming off a very serious hip injury, and the Dolphins obviously want to be careful with their franchise quarterback of the future and not throw him to the wolves behind an overhauled offensive line that hemorrhaged an NFL-worst (tie) 58 sacks last season. Fitzpatrick appeared in 15 games (13 starts), finishing as the fantasy QB17 despite operating behind that line and throwing to a surprisingly solid receiver corps. In his final 11 starts, "FitzMagic" averaged 281 passing yards and 1.6 touchdown tosses per contest. The 37-year-old journeyman, still willing to scramble, led the Dolphins in rushing yards, and he ranked 10th at the position in carries and 10th in rushing yards. Miami's top-three targets, DeVante Parker, Preston Williams (knee) and Mike Gesicki are all returning, and Fitzpatrick shouldn't have to run as much with Jordan Howard and Matt Breida in the fold. Fitzpatrick knows new offensive boss Chan Gailey's spread offense from their time together with the Bills (2010-12) and the Jets (2015-16). Until Tagovailoa is ready to take the helm, Fitzpatrick is worth a look as a deep league spot starter in the right matchups.

Passing: 524 Yards, 3 TD, 2 INT.
Rushing: 39 Yards, 1 TD.
