Strength of Schedule
Strength of Schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the DEF position. The easiest rating is 1 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the most difficult rating is 10 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Fantasy Analysis
Week 14 Projections
If your league penalizes harshly for points allowed, then the Panthers won’t be the best option for you. Carolina has plummeted to 26th in points allowed (26.7 per contest), but this stop unit is still a fringe starting option based on the matchup. The Panthers also have dipped to sixth in takeaways after notching only one forced turnover during the last month, but Carolina still leads the NFL in sacks, averaging 3.0 per contest in that time frame. The Atlanta Falcons offense is ranked 18th in scoring (21.7 points per game), and Atlanta has permitted the seventh-most sacks, tossed the fifth-most interceptions and yielded the seventh-most fantasy points to defenses. Having secondary coach Perry Fewell operating as interim head coach could give the Panthers a spark.
4 Sacks, 1 Ints, 1 Fumbles

Season Projections
As recently as the 2016 season, the Carolina Panthers were a top-five fantasy defense--a team that could be counted on as an every-week starter. Their production dropped somewhat the following season, but an NFC-high 50 sacks were enough to keep the Panthers inside the top-10 in most scoring systems. Last year, however, the bottom fell out--Carolina managed just 35 sacks and finished well outside the top-20 in fantasy points. The Panthers added a Pro Bowl tackle in Gerald McCoy and drafted edge-rusher Brain Burns in the first round in an effort to get back on track where it comes to sacks, but with Carolina moving to a new scheme in 2019 this is a hard defense to peg--or rely on.
