Strength of Schedule
Strength of Schedule is calculated from the opponents projected fantasy points allowed for the QB position. The easiest rating is 1 which gives the player the advantage against the defense and indicates an easy opponent, the most difficult rating is 10 which gives the defense the advantage and indicates a tough opponent.
Fantasy Analysis
Week 6 Projections
Playing his last six quarters without security blanket Julio Jones (hamstring), Ryan has struggled noticeably. He passed for a season-low 226 scoreless yards during the Falcons' Week 5 home loss to the Carolina Panthers, routinely misfiring on easy passes and overlooking wide-open targets despite operating behind an offensive line that's much better than the ones from past seasons. Matty Ice has tossed only one touchdown pass in his last three games. A road clash against a Minnesota Vikings defense that has surrendered the sixth-most passing yards and the eighth-most touchdown strikes looks great on paper, but can Ryan play well enough to exploit this matchup? If Jones returns, Ryan's chances for a bounce-back outing are good. If Jones sits, Ryan is a boom-or-bust option.
Passing: 276 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT.
Rushing: 8 Yards, 0 TD.

Season Projections
For the second season in a row, the Falcons lived and died with Ryan's arm because of an inept bottom-five rushing attack and a still leaky bottom-six defense that did improve a bit toward the end of 2019. Despite topping the NFL in completions, Ryan slipped from fantasy QB2 to fantasy QB7 because he passed for nine fewer touchdowns (1.7 per contest) and 450 fewer yards (297.7 per game). Ryan's top-two targets, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, both return healthy. Austin Hooper (Browns), Atlanta's third-leading receiver from 2019, is gone, but the team has breakout hopes for Hayden Hurst even though he has never caught more than 30 passes in a season. Hooper and Hurst have similar skill sets, but Hurst is faster and more of a big-play threat. Todd Gurley, replacing Devonta Freeman, is a great receiver out of the backfield, but can he stay healthy? Ryan was sacked a league-high (tie) 48 times last season but will operate Dirk Koetter's pass-heavy offense again behind a reworked line that's expected to feature five first-round draft picks. If the ground game and/or defense struggle again, the 35-year-old Ryan has high-volume passing upside, but he'll do next to nothing as a runner as usual. A model of consistency, Ryan has finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in eight of the past 10 seasons. As Matty Ice heads into his 13th campaign, he has missed only three regular-season games.

Passing: 3176 Yards, 19 TD, 8 INT.
Rushing: 84 Yards, 1 TD.
