Fantasy Analysis
Week 3 Projections
Baltimore is the toughest matchup yet for Mahomes, but you never worry. He already has 7 touchdowns in 2 games, compared to not 1 interception. With the Chiefs' starting running backs banged up, they could lean even more heavily on Mahomes. Fire him up as a top-tier option in Week 3.
Passing: 286 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT.
Rushing: 14 Yards, 0 TD.

Season Projections
The reigning league MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and king of fantasy quarterbacks is a special talent, no doubt about it. Outperforming the highest expectations during his mind-blowing second-year breakout, Mahomes led the NFL in touchdown passes, joining Peyton Manning and Tom Brady (Patriots) as the only quarterbacks to throw at least 50 in a single season. Mahomes also finished second in the league in passing yards, becoming just the seventh player in NFL history to smash the 5,000-yard barrier. A more seasoned Mahomes returns healthy to operate a high-octane Chiefs attack that led the league in yards and scoring this past season, but he's due for some regression. Mahomes isn't going to sneak up on anyone this time, and even the top-shelf talents at the position have very rarely duplicated record-setting career-year stats. His top-two targets in a solid overall receiver corps, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce (ankle surgery), will both be in uniform for Week 1. They combined for 55 percent of Mahomes' passing yards and 44 percent of his touchdown passes in 2018. Injury-prone Sammy Watkins missed six games last season due to a right foot injury (Watkins' left foot troubled him during his time with the Bills), but he still compiled moderate production while catching 72.7 percent of his targets. Demarcus Robinson will fill Chris Conley's (Jaguars) third wideout role, which is an upgrade. With Hill playing full time, however, rocket-fast rookie second-rounder Mecole Hardman probably will see only limited action as a fourth wideout at best. Damien Williams has shown good enough receiving chops to offset the loss of Kareem Hunt (Browns). By the way, the mobile Mahomes will continue to pad his fantasy scoring with opportunistic rushing production. He notched two rushing touchdowns last season, and Mahomes' carries and rushing yardage numbers cracked the top 11 at the position. Even if he comes back down to earth statistically with a 20 percent slide in passing production across the board, Mahomes is still going to finish as a top-three fantasy quarterback.

Passing: 4178 Yards, 36 TD, 7 INT.
Rushing: 197 Yards, 2 TD.
