Fantasy Analysis
Week 7 Projections
While Michael Thomas (high-ankle sprain) was sidelined from Week 2 through Week 5, Kamara operated as the centerpiece of the Saints offense. His expanded role as a receiver (8.3 targets per contest) easily explains why Kamara averaged 21.5 touches and 152.3 combo yards per contest with five touchdowns scored. Thomas was expected to return for Week 7. Even though Kamara's workload will drop off slightly - particularly in the passing game - he's obviously still a must-start guy. The Carolina Panthers defense that has allowed the ninth-most rushing yards, the second-most rushing touchdowns and the most catches to the running back position. Even though the Panthers have tightened up a bit in recent weeks, Kamara is still a strong play.
Rushing: 62 Yards, 1 TD.
Receiving: 6 Receptions, 48 Yards, 0 TD.

Season Projections
Going into 2019 Alvin Kamara owners were prepared for him to have a reduced role. However, they expected more from him to still be efficient with the touches he was given. So, what happened? He never recovered from Week 7 ankle/knee injuries. He was effective enough to play, but he was never anywhere near 100%. Up to that point in the season he was positive touchdown regression away from being a Top-5 option. Afterwards, he never saw 15 carries in a game for the remainder of the season and only topped 100 total yards three times. Take positives away from that though - despite being less than 100% he was still a playable option and the Saints didn't make any changes that leave us thinking his role will be effected. Kamara as a Top-5 option at the position is still very much in play.

Rushing: 603 Yards, 8 TD.
Receiving: 66 Receptions, 557 Yards, 3 TD.
