Season Projections
Despite operating with an upgraded supporting cast and a new passer-friendly scheme courtesy of head coach Adam Gase, Darnold didn't manufacture the breakout campaign that some had predicted last season. During a fantasy QB28 season full of ups and downs, Darnold showed flashes of his franchise-caliber talents with some strong outings (four games with at least 270 passing yards and two touchdown tosses) but also racked up some occasional dud performances (four with 200 or fewer passing yards and one or fewer touchdown strikes). Starting 13 games for the second straight season (three games missed because of mono), Darnold ranked 25th in attempts and passing yards, and 24th touchdown strikes. Heading into Year 3 of Darnold's NFL career and his second season with Gase, the 23-year-old signal caller is trending in the right direction. He finished strong for the second season in a row, tossing 13 touchdown passes and just four picks in his last eight games. However, a huge "magical" third-year leap from Darnold is unlikely. The Jets had to tweak Darnold's supporting cast for the second season in a row, and the reshuffled offensive unit will need some time to come together. Jamison Crowder, Chris Herndon, Ryan Griffin and Le'Veon Bell (66 catches) all return, but Darnold will have to develop some chemistry with new targets Breshad Perriman and rookie second-rounder Denzel Mims, a size-speed freak and Kenny Golladay clone. A revamped Jets offensive line that yielded 52 sacks last season could feature at least three new starters, including rookie 10th overall selection Mehki Becton. Treat Darnold as a matchup play No. 2 fantasy quarterback who could shine during the second half of the season.

Passing: 1669 Yards, 9 TD, 11 INT.
Rushing: 123 Yards, 2 TD.
