Season Projections
The heart and soul of the Eagles' passing attack is coming off a historic 2018 campaign. Playing a full regular season for the first time in the last four years, Ertz set a new NFL record for receptions by a tight end in a single season. He also racked up a new career high in receiving yards (his first 1,000-yard effort) and tied his career high in touchdown catches. In addition, Ertz topped all tight ends in targets and wrapped up the regular season as the fantasy TE3/non-PPR and as the fantasy TE2/PPR. Ertz has finished as a top-10 fantasy tight end and ranked in the top six in targets at the position four seasons in a row. One of Philadelphia's go-to guys in the red zone, he has amassed eight scoring grabs in two straight campaigns. Turning just 29 in early November, Ertz, known for his impeccable hands (74 percent catch rate) and mismatch-creating mobility, continues to perform at an elite level and will remain Carson Wentz's go-to guy, but stat regression seems like a safe bet. Even elite players rarely duplicate career-year numbers. A small dip in targets is likely for Ertz despite his top-dog status since the Eagles added DeSean Jackson and rookie second-rounder J.J. Arcega-Whiteside to a talented group of playmakers that includes Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor and second-year leap candidate Dallas Goedert. Keep in mind that Ertz missed a combined four games from 2016 through 2017 due to various nagging injuries and battled through an ankle ailment during the closing weeks of this past season, so durability is a mild concern. With Nick Foles (Jaguars) replaced by Nate Sudfeld, a long-term Wentz injury obviously would impact Ertz's production a lot more than in previous years.

Receiving: 40 Receptions, 425 Yards, 3 TD.
