Season Projections
Washington has been moving forward with Haskins as its clear-cut Week 1 starter despite his rocky rookie debut last season, but job security for the 15th overall selection in the 2019 draft looks shaky. Former team exec Bruce Allen, who drafted Haskins, is no longer with the organization. New head coach Ron Rivera traded for Kyle Allen, who was his starting quarterback for most of last season in Carolina. Allen has played in new offensive boss Scott Turner's Air Coryell scheme, which gives him a huge advantage over Haskins as he learns his second playbook in as many seasons. Haskins often looked totally overmatched while making nine starts, connecting on just 58.6 percent of his throws and compiling a 22 percent off-target rate. The strong-armed pocket passer also tossed multiple scoring strikes in only three games and cleared 214 passing yards in a contest only once, but Haskins did flash some notable all-around improvement late in the season. With Paul Richardson, Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson all gone, Haskins' supporting cast is full of question marks behind Terry McLaurin. An offensive line that yielded 50 sacks received very few offseason upgrades. Haskins, in a starting role, looks like a shaky fantasy option.
