THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Week 3

Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it Let’s just get this out of the way early. This is going to be a very contrarian Progno this week. With so very many road teams favored (I can’t recall a time that I’ve seen as many) there are going to be upsets. Home field is serious stuff and it will help push the underdogs along. You’ve been warned. Enjoy the games this week!

How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers – Thursday 8:25pm
What a game this one turned into. It had a little bit of everything, including some of the best receiving I think we have seen in some time. Both teams went way over and the Rams took care of it. If there was any saving grace, it’s that San Francisco was the “pool” pick getting points and that was the right pick to make. Major applause to the Rams and Niners. Way to ball out. Side Note: I’ve had it with the color rush uni’s. No more.. please. Throw backs were fine but Skittles with legs? Not for me.

Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars – Sunday 9:30am
The Jaguars are big up front on defense and that is going to slow the Ravens down on the ground. Javorius Allen makes a much better fit against the Jaguars than Terrance West does, just because of his receiving abilities. The Ravens will have to throw and throw they will. The Jaguars won’t make it look pretty, but they’ll be able to grind out some balanced offense that at home, will help keep them in this one. It is not a great day fantasy wise for your Jags but Leonard Fournette deserves to be in there.

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills – Sunday 1:00pm
I warned you. It may not be well advertised but playing the Bills in Buffalo is never an easy task. It’s a more hostile environment than perhaps some realize. Denver will play well here, their needle is pointing up, but the Bills at home will shred the Broncos on the ground.

Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday 1:00pm
The Browns defense has yet to come together and the Colts have rallied behind Jacoby Brissett. Advantage Colts. This will be a long day for the Browns.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots – Sunday 1:00pm
The Texans organization from top to bottom is ex-Patriot execs and coaches. No one knows the Patriots better and the Texans always give them a run. This one is in Foxboro however and historically, the hardest place for a visiting team to win. Expect this to be a Tom Brady game where it’s him dispensing the ball all over the field and for Mike Gillislee to not get as many carries. He is still the goal line guy and worth a start but this is a Brady game, set expectations appropriately.
