Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it sooth the savage beasts. There are some interesting choices this week as there are a number of games that sound like they could be good sources of fantasy production but ultimately won’t be. It is a minefield this week, be careful. I’m not a big DFS player, far from it, but I have been putting in a lineup each week, playing in just a few 50/50’s and Double Ups. I do it just for fun — a tank of gas costs me more than what I’ll play in a week in DFS but it has been a tremendously successful year. I’ve only had one week where I didn’t manage to double up so I’m roughly at 5X what I started with. Now I can fill my tank twice!! This week is just so screwy that after careful consideration, I’m going to sit this one out. What makes it tricky is all the stats that will come out of the Atlanta/New England game and the fact that it is the Sunday Night game. The way the games are grouped by time in DFS, really messes everything up this week with that night game being such a cherry game for stats. The early games are a desert wasteland, I don’t like using just two games and submitting a prime-time lineup so to make sure you have some of the Patriots/Falcons matchup you need to dilute your choices and pick from many more games. It opens you up to some sharp unpredictability so in a nutshell, I’m riding this one out.

How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.
Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders – Thursday 8:25pm | |||||||||||||||

The expectation for a close and high scoring game was there, including an Alex Smith bounce back. Derek Carr exploding like he did however, was a bit unforeseen.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills – Sunday 1:00pm | |||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Bills are at home, Tampa Bay has been giving up loads of yards in the air and Jameis Winston may or may not go. It all points to a difficult game for Tampa. Ryan Fitzpatrick does make an adequate fill-in however as he is one of the better backup quarterback options in the league. No matter whom is starting at quarterback, play your Buccaneer receiving game as it will do well here. It’s the Bills however that get the last laugh with a good game from Tyrod Taylor.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts – Sunday 1:00pm | |||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Even if Leonard Fournette can’t go, Chris Ivory will pick up the pieces. The Jaguars believe and they’ll look good proving it. Jacoby Brissett has played admirably in Andrew Luck‘s absence but the Jaguars are going to be a tough team to handle. Allen Hurns plays well, as does the Jaguars ground game. Frank Gore also does a Monty Python reprisal and reminds us that he’s not dead yet.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins – Sunday 1:00pm | |||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This will be a tightly contested division game with the Jets emphasizing their passing game and Luke McCown as Miami pushes the ball through Jay Ajayi. Many are predicting big things for the Dolphins passing offense this week, I am not one of them. Stick with Ajayi and get your entire Jets passing game in including Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns – Sunday 1:00pm | |||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Tennessee ground game is the only moving part to this game that deserves a mention. DeMarco Murray may or not go, if he does not, then Derrick Henry makes a must-start. The rest of the usual fantasy players will struggle in this one.
