THE PROGNOSTICATOR: Wild Card Weekend

Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it not trip you up. The playoffs are here and we here at Progno Central are thrilled. It is such a great time of the year to sit down and watch game after game where everything is on the line. Between now and the conclusion of the Superbowl, we will be treated to eleven games in a row of “win or go home” football and what a thrill ride it will be. Enjoy the games!

How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Oakland Raiders at Houston Texans – Saturday 4:35pm
With Carr the Raiders would have won this game. Without him? Not so much. The ground game and Latavius Murray will be busy but as soon as the Texans go up in the game, the Raiders won’t be able to play catch up ball. Expect big things from Lamar Miller here too as the Houston Texans move on.

Favorite: Houston Texans by 3
Prediction: Houston Texans 23 – Oakland Raiders 14

Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks – Saturday 8:15pm
The Seahawks will be just that much better in almost every phase of the game and home field does not hurt. Without a true running game, the Lions will struggle as they are going to run out of options in a hurry.

Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers – Sunday 1:05pm
Miami can hold their own but this is just way too much Pittsburgh offense for Miami to handle. Ben Roethlisberger will be slinging balls all over the field and Le’Veon Bell will be scampering for big gains. Where Miami can compete is in taking the ball away and this game really comes down to it. If Miami can switch possession enough with enough turnovers, they have a slim chance.

New York Giants at Green Bay Packers – Sunday 4:40pm
The Giants most certainly will be throwing the ball all over the Packers but Green Bay will be able to repay the favor. Expect this to be all about the passing games and really not much else. Not to sell Eli Manning and Odell Beckham short but I don’t think anyone really wants to play the Packers right now.
