Seadog’s Week #9

Howdy Sharkfans! It’s halfway through the season, and I’ve got to tell you that the waiver wire is starting to wear real thin. Normally, I like to focus on some good match-ups at each position, but I’m changing the format a little this week. Here are some of the players at each position that have been putting up strong numbers the past few weeks. In putting these lists together, I took the average of the three most IDP intensive leagues that I’m involved in.

Don’t worry; I’ll be reverting back to the old format next week.

Top 5 DTs over the past 3 weeks

Jovan Haye TB

Kelly Gregg BAL

Brian Young NO

Chris Hovan TB

Domata Peko CIN

Another DT that I like this week is

Dwan Edwards BAL. He’s playing a lot because Trevor Price has a bad wrist. He’s one that might be a decent waiver wire grab for your line-up this weekend.

Top 5 DEs over the past 3 weeks

Trent Cole PHI

Aaron Kampman GB

Justin Smith CIN

Jared Allen KC

Paul Spicer JAX

Another DE that is intriguing this week is

DE Simeon Rice DEN. Rice hasn’t played much this year because he’s been recovering from surgery and

Tampa let him go this year. He will be playing on passing downs right now for

Denver, but as a spot play he might be worth considering this week or beyond.

Top 10 LBs over the past 3 weeks

Demeco Ryans HOU

London

Fletcher-Baker WAS

EJ Henderson MIN

Mike Vrabel NE

Will Witherspoon STL

Kirk Morrison OAK

Tedy Bruschi NE

Roger McIntosh WAS

Derrick Brooks TB

Antonio Pierce NYG

Former LB stud

Jonathan Vilma NYJ has been placed on IR and rookie

David Harris is taking his place on the Jet’s defense. Harris could start to put up some good numbers from here on out.

Top 10 CBs over the past 3 weeks

Antoine Winfield MIN

Darrelle Revis NYJ

Nick Harper TEN

Antonio Cromartie SD

Rashean Mathis JAX

Deangelo Hall ATL

Sheldon Brown PHI

Leigh Bodden CLE

Sam Madison NYG

Kelvin

Hayden

IND

I’m looking for

CB Ellis Hobbs NE to have a strong performance this week going against Peyton and company.

Top 10 Safeties over the past 3 weeks

Sammy Knight JAX

Sean Taylor WAS

Roman Harper NO

Michael Huff OAK

LaRon Landry WAS

Reggie Nelson JAX

Cameron Worrell MIA

Adam Archuleta CHI

Madieu Williams CIN

Josh Bullocks NO

This might be a good week to play

S Anthony Smith PIT. He got to play more last week with Ryan Clark hurting and he put up some solid IDP points. Keep an eye on this situation, but Smith is begging for more playing time and he just might continue to get more on Monday.

Don’t forget the byes this week:

Bears, Dolphins, Giants, Rams

That’s a wrap of another Seadog Report. Thanks for reading – see you next week!
