STREAMING DEFENSES: Week 13

For many of us this is the last chance to make the playoffs and we have some great defenses to stream this week.  Many of the weaker teams have some plus match-ups and should be considered more this week than other weeks.

Indianapolis Colts at the Jacksonville Jaguars (Grade A): The Jaguars are an absolute mess right now. Leonard Fournette is suspended for this game and the team has finally decided to bench Blake Bortles. As much as we like to make fun of Bortles, Cody Kessler may actually be worse. The only player who has a chance to do any damage versus the Colts is T.J. Yeldon who has done a good job in filling in for Fournette this year. If the Colts shut him down this game has shutout written all over it.

Buffalo Bills at the Miami Dolphins (Grade B+): The Bills have played very well this year on defense and when they have had bad games it is due more to the lack of offense than the play of the defense. The Dolphins are not a good team and if Josh Allen can build on last weeks performance this is going to be a very good game for the Bills defense. The Dolphins do have some weapons but they are either older players like Frank Gore or the boom-or-bust type players like Kenyan Drake. The Bills have shown an ability to shut these type of players down and they will limit the Dolphins opportunities by grinding the ball on the ground.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home vs Carolina Panthers (Grade B): I know what you are thinking, the Buccaneers have an awful defense but what most people may not know is that they have gotten better every week for the last 5 weeks in a row. The fact is, when the offense doesn’t turn the ball over the defense plays much better than their ranking shows. If I had a choice between starting the Buccaneers this week or teams like Jacksonville, Chargers, Pittsburgh, or the Vikings I am taking the Buccaneers this week. Do I think they will dominate the Panthers….No. Do I think they can have a solid game and out perform their ranking….. Yes.

Daily Fantasy Corner

Kansas City Chiefs at the Oakland Raiders (DK 2,500/FD 4,300)

The Chiefs have a lot of controversy swirling around them this week. I expect that they are going to come out and attempt to silence the critics by putting the Raiders away early. This has the potential to a statement game for the Chiefs, where they go out and prove that they are a strong team capable of overcoming the drama caused by the Hunt situation. For the price you are paying, I am willing to take the risk on the Chiefs this week.
