Each week this season in “The Daily Blitz,” fantasy analyst Nick Pagliuca will list what players he is targeting at each position. He will also mention players who should be avoided. Price and projected stats will be considered into analysis. The key to daily fantasy is fitting players into your lineup based on price/production.
Week 10 will be focusing on DraftKings, but we have a little different setup for this week.
Favorite Play of the Week
David Johnson ($8,400) is a near must-play in cash games this week. His price tag makes him the top running back on the board, but the price is affordable. He will be heavily owned, but fade him at your own risk against the San Francisco run defense.
Best QB Value of the Week
Colin Kaepernick was our value play last week and he paid off by putting up 27.22 fantasy points. Trevor Siemian ($5,600) gets New Orleans this week in the Superdome and can be considered a great value play. I would temper expectations with him compared to Kaepernick from last week because of the running ability. However, a multiple-touchdown performance putting up 18-20 points should not be out of the question.
Best RB Value of the Week
Charcandrick West was a bust in Week 9 and there is a chance that Spencer Ware returns in Week 10. Darren Sproles ($4,300) appears to be the main back now in Philadelphia. He should have many opportunities to catch passes as he saw nine targets last week. Carson Wentz loves to check down and Sproles is a solid play with a high ceiling.
Top Plays: David Johnson ($8,400), Le’Veon Bell ($7,700)
Best WR Value of the Week
DeAndre Hopkins ($7,100) may technically not be the best value at wide receiver this week, but I like him as a possible contrarian play against Jacksonville. Houston had the bye week to hopefully figure out it needs to get its best playmaker the ball. We know the ability that Hopkins has so you never know when he is poised for a monster game.
Best TE Value of the Week
Zach Miller ($3,600) has been a consistent tight end all season as he ranks just outside of the Top 5 in points per reception rankings. He gets Tampa Bay on the road in what could be a high-scoring affair. I am not buying into Zach Ertz after his big game against the New York Giants, who notoriously struggle versus tight ends.
Many will flock to Arizona ($3,700) and rightfully so against San Francisco. Carolina at $3,200 is another selection. Los Angeles ($2,900) or the New York Jets at $100 less are both cheaper options as they face each other in MetLife Stadium.
