Surviving Week 12

We have reached Thanksgiving football, which means the season is dwindling down. There are just a few weeks left in the fantasy season until the playoffs begin, but still six long weeks of your survivor pool. You must begin to dig deeper if you do not have any of the top dogs available. Check out my Week 12 analysis.

Week 1 – New York Giants – WIN

Week 2 – Green Bay Packers – WIN

Week 3 – New England Patriots – WIN

Week 4 – New Orleans Saints – WIN

Week 5 – Indianapolis Colts – WIN

Week 6 – Chicago Bears – LOSS

(I will begin giving multiple options for future weeks after my first loss.)

3. Chiefs – W /
4. Jets – W

We are on a short week with three Thursday games so I’ll get right into my picks for this week.

Thursday Games

The
New York Jets are an option as they are the only home favorite on Thanksgiving. I don’t really like to go against the home teams in general, but especially on primetime or on the big stage. The Jets should finally come through with a big effort and beat a team by double digits.

Sunday Games

I also like the other New York team at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The
New York
Giants need to rebound after a couple NFC East losses and despite the offensive injuries, they should be able to handle the Jaguars with their defense.

One of the most popular picks this week will be
Cleveland since no one will have likely used them this season and the pick comes at the perfect time. Twelve weeks in you can pick a team at home with a double-digit point spread. Sounds pretty good to me.

I will give you one road pick this week as
Pittsburgh travels to Buffalo. The Bills have won two straight, but it will stop right there as the Steelers will prove to be too much for the Bills. The cold Buffalo climate will not be an issue for the Steelers and that eliminates part of the Bills’ home field advantage.

SELECTIONS: Those are the four picks this week with the Jets, Giants, Browns, and Steelers. If you do not have any of those three teams, then you can look at New England on the road at Detroit or Oakland home against Miami. I really like the
Raiders to bounce back at home this week, but the point spread makes me a bit nervous. The Raiders are only a three-point favorite. Oakland has played much better than Miami over the last few weeks. The Raiders were put in a bad position playing Pittsburgh, who was coming off a tough loss the week before. Therefore, I feel the spread should be a few points higher. Maybe it will be by the end of the week, but when a spread looks odd, I usually stay away.

Good luck this week!
