We are almost through the bye weeks as we enter Week 10. There are just a few weeks left in the fantasy regular season, but you are only a little more than halfway home in your survivor pools. The choices only become slimmer as we move on, but there are six big favorites on this weekend’s card. Checkout who may be in danger of being upset at home and who you should select on Sunday.
I apologize for no analysis in Week 9 as we were without power in most of New Jersey.
Thursday Night Game
Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars –
Divisional game that I would avoid. Big game for Andrew Luck and the Colts, though. They need to pick up this road win in the division against a bad Jacksonville team.
The big favorites Sunday include the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. You have a handful of teams to choose from this week. However, the one team that stands out in this bunch is the Dolphins. They are a team that mostly everyone has in your pool. Even though Tennessee is not a good team, this is no slam dunk pick.
Jake Locker may be back for the Titans, and they do have some weapons on offense. They did upset Pittsburgh, albeit in Tennessee, a few weeks ago. Be careful with that game, but if you can advance with Miami, it would be a big lift. I would be wary of the Ravens, who have not played so well of late. They are 3-1 in their last four games, but they only beat Kansas City, 9-6, Dallas, 31-29, and Cleveland, 25-15. However, the Browns game was very close all game. They could be looking ahead to the Steelers in Week 11, which will be a huge divisional game.
I really like Seattle at home against the New York Jets. I would choose them over Miami this week. New England and San Francisco should beat their opponents at home, but don’t pick the divisional games if you don’t have to. Stay away from these division games between New Orleans-Atlanta, Detroit-Minnesota, and Dallas-Philadelphia. The New York Giants should beat Cincinnati on the road before the bye week, but I would prefer taking a home team.
Monday Night Football
Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers –
Pittsburgh would be a good pick on Monday night at home against the worst team in the NFL.
In order, I like Pittsburgh, Seattle, New England, San Francisco and Miami this week. You can also throw the New York Giants into the mix if you want to take a road team. Their schedule does not have any easy games down the stretch, so this may be their last game against a poor team. Nevertheless, I would be rolling with Seattle or Miami over them this week, and you are likely to have at least one of them available.
I would lay off Baltimore this week since the Ravens have not been playing their best football of late. Oakland has been known to pull off some upsets in survivor pools, and the Raiders almost took down Atlanta on the road in Week 5.
