Survivor Week 6

Denver is favored by four touchdowns this week, but are the Broncos the recommended choice for Week 6? Check out the breakdown to help make your choice this weekend!

For those who have been reading for the last few years, my golden rule is to avoid the road teams, especially early in the season when you have more options. I also do not like to take divisional games if I can avoid them. However, it is understood that you may not have a choice some weeks to follow those rules. It is also more difficult now as some survivor pools make you pick two teams down the stretch of the season to thin out the field.

Let’s get into the action for Week 6:

Thursday Night

New York Giants at Chicago Bears – I’ll stand by my advice of not picking against a winless team. The Giants are 0-5 and have been in most of these games, but are not executing for 60 minutes. They are a bad team this year, but they are not Jacksonville bad. Smart money would be on the Bears, I would not be shocked if the Giants play a close game.

Sunday and Monday Games

These teams are options this weekend (in order of confidence) with the point spread for reference.

(-27.5) – vs. Jacksonville

(-13.5) – vs. Tennessee

(-7) – vs. St. Louis – * Recommended pick *

Kansas City
(-9.5) – vs. Oakland

If you can hold off on Denver since the Broncos are a fallback option for any other week, it would be advised. If you do not like any of the other teams, roll with the Broncos and advance. However, Houston is a good pick to rebound at home. The Texans have issues, specifically at quarterback clearly, but they should be able to run all over the Rams.

That makes another week in a row where the team to avoid has dropped a divisional game on the road. Last week it was San Diego on the road against Oakland. This week, I would avoid the Detroit Lions in Cleveland. I would also stay away from the Dallas Cowboys at home against the Washington Redskins in the NFC East showdown. I am not a fan of the New York Jets at home against winless Pittsburgh. The Jets are coming off a big Monday night win while the Steelers had a week off to regroup. I would also look elsewhere than the Eagles with
Nick Foles

starting in Tampa Bay.

Good luck in Week 6!
