Draft day has come and gone for all of my leagues. I can honestly tell you that my strategy was different in every single league. I think every single draft is a poker game. You look at the players and if you can’t spot the weakest player at the table in the first twenty minutes… it’s you.
I think most folks have enough technology at their finger tips that they can tell you a player’s average draft position but that certainly doesn’t indicate what draft position players in your league will be selected. I don’t get too caught up in that usually. I just want players that fit the production that I need. My speculation on certain players makes that player more valuable to me, personally.
This year’s player that I had to have is T.Y. Hilton. Every single time I rostered him in all of my leagues it was in different spots. That was due to the knowledge of the other owners in that particular “poker” game. Let’s examine what I see in T.Y. Hilton that made him a must have for me in all leagues.
T.Y. Hilton WR- Indianapolis Colts:
While Eugene T.Y. Hilton is a mere 5-feet 9-inches in stature and 183 pounds, His blazing speed, sure hands, and chemistry with Andrew Luck is intriguing.
By now you have read that the Colts plan to use two wide receivers in the base package. Those two receivers have been listed as Reggie Wayne, and Darrius Heyward-Bey. I’ve heard it all before. Why would you even think about a receiver that is not even involved in the standard base package?
Let’s examine what I saw that made me think that he was worthy of drafting this year:
