THANKSGIVING DAY: Betting Menu

There are plenty of options on the card for Thursday. If you don’t have a strong opinion on the sides or totals, take a look at the props or other fun items to bet. With that said, let’s quickly preview the games for Thanksgiving Day.

Bears (-3) @ Lions, Total: 38
Normally, betting against the Lions on Thanksgiving is a bad proposition, but lean the Bears in this game laying the field goal. Another lean would be to the under in this game at 38. These two teams met a few weeks ago in Chicago and the final was 20-13 in a weather friendly game. If you are looking for action, those are the sides to be on.

Bills @ Cowboys (-6.5), Total: 47
There are a couple of different ways to play this game as the Bills travel to Dallas. The line has bounced around between 6.5 and 7. If you are able to grab the Bills +7, that would be a smart move. There is also some appeal to the Bills’ Money Line +250. Buffalo has a solid defense that travels and will be amped up on Thursday. The official plays for this game would be the game total under 47 and the first half under 23.5, both currently available at DraftKings.

Saints (-6.5) @ Falcons, Total: 49
The Saints are a -300 ML favorite over at Caesars and we would be shocked if New Orleans dropped both games to the Falcons this year. A more favorable option would be to add the Saints in a 6 point teaser this week. A good play would to take the Saints as an even PK and pair them with the Bills +13.5 in a 2-team, 6-point teaser. Another official play is the total going under 49 points. Everyone will be looking for fireworks in the night game and we will see the defenses come out to play.

Players to score anytime touchdowns:
Odds courtesy of Fanduel

David Montgomery +175
Any Other Chicago Player +550 (DraftKings) – Defensive players
Dak Prescott +350 (must be runner/receiver, not passing)
Frank Gore +430 (longshot, but seems like a nice story for him to score on Thanksgiving)
Calvin Ridley +175

Fanduel also has some great Thanksgiving Props such as highest scoring team lowest scoring team, and stat leaders. Here are the picks:

Highest Scoring Team: Saints +200. They’re the favorite, but with the under being a top play in the BUF/DAL game, we will go with the Saints here and ignore the CHI/DET game, although the Bears are sneaky at +700.

Lowest Scoring Team: Falcons +550. We are going with the value pick here. The Lions and Bills sit at +200 and +270 respectively. If the Saints defense shows up, they could limit Atlanta to less than 14 points and it may be good enough for a +550 winner.

Most Rushing Yards: David Montgomery +500. Why not take a shot here that he can get 20 carries and eclipse 100 rushing yards in this one? The price is right to try to beat Zeke at +130. Kamara at +470 may also be worth a few bucks. We would bet on these two to try to out-rush the favorite Zeke who is priced near even money.

Most Receiving Yards: Calvin Ridley +900. You can see the trend here is to take the value plays so we are fading Thomas +230 and looking a little deeper past Cooper and Julio.

Bonus College Football Pick: Ole Miss (+2.5) @ Mississippi State
Ole Miss +2.5. The wrong team is favored in this game. Take the Rebels with the points here.

Happy Thanksgiving!
