The Brutus Report

“Et tu, Brute?” (Even you, Brutus?)  Arguably the most famous three words uttered in literature, this immortalized quote from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar has come down in history to mean the ultimate betrayal by one’s closest friend.  In the Brutus Report I will bring you a weekly overview of the betrayers of the previous week’s games as well as make a few predictions on the players most likely to stick a dagger in your back this week.

Some unexpectedly big performances last week.  Perhaps I should consider awarding the Brutus to the player most benched when he is about to have a monster game?  Green?  Hassey?  Hmmmm?  I know that having a winner on the bench can hurt just about as bad a playing a loser.    Well hopefully none of them got you.

Moving on to the awards…

Randy Moss – Well I said a few reports ago I had to list this guy when he was injured or I might never get to list him…  He made me a liar.  4 catches for 31 yards is indeed worthy of mention.  How many owners out there were all excited to see this guy back in uniform?  How many owners got burned?  I bet the answer is  A LOT to both questions.

Drew Brees14-of-27 for 106 yards and an INT???  Isn’t this the same guy that that won games for people last week and the week before and the week before…?  Don’t know what happened here, but I must say I am happy.  The great news is I had dropped Brees weeks ago and my opponent for last week had picked him up.  I have been kicking myself for the drop ever since, but Drew pulled through for me by sabotaging the guy I needed to beat.  He was like my 9th player on the field and to make matters sweeter my opponent had Bledsoe on the bench!

Tiki Barber – Where did this guy come from?  I mean this is the Tiki we were all expecting from draft day.  Took him long enough to show up.  15 carries, 38 yards for a whooping 2.5 yards per carry.  Bravo!

And the Week 13 Brutus Award goes to…

Deuce McAllister – Wow, wow.  This one hurt a lot of people.  Seven touches totaling 22 yards and a fumble lost to top off the outing!  This resulting in negative points for many of his owners last week.  You just cannot accept negative points from a starting RB and expect to win your game.  I do appreciate that he choose to have his flop the same week he faced my team though.  Appreciate it buddy!

Week 14 possible Brutus

Brett Favre – Look for him to have another flop in Week 14.
