|Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Sunday 6:30pm|
This final game of the 2020-21 season will be a dog fight, to expect anything else would be unwise. Kansas City is most certainly a tremendously gifted and dangerous football team that will sling the football all over the field. Patrick Mahomes will be in rare form and it will primarily be his accomplishments that keeps the Chiefs offense scoring. There are however, two reasons why this game swings Tampa Bay’s way. You might expect one of them to be the difference that Tom Brady makes and while that is true, he certainly has had a direct influence on the fortunes for the Buccaneers, it’s actually Patrick Mahomes that should be MVP in this one. Brady will be fine, he’ll do what he does best, manage a game, and he’ll be a terrific game manager here. But the difference maker and why Tampa Bay wins this game is Leonard Fournette. He’s been a big part of their success lately and has looked every bit the part of a top-level athlete in a position to cement not only a Super Bowl championship but his longterm future value in the NFL. This is as big a game for Leonard Fournette as it is for Tom Brady but for different reasons. Fournette will be the cog that makes the Tampa Bay offense go while Tom Brady will be that proverbial nail in Kansas City’s coffin, cementing his own legacy as an obvious first ballot Hall of Fame inductee.
