Red – HOT!

Yellow – Warm

White – Average

Blue – Cold

Dk Blue – Frigid

Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions        Sunday    1:00p

Bryant Johnson hurt himself in practice so watch the injury report.  A shame for all those Anquan Boldin owners that snatched up Johnson.

Lions WR Scott Vines has been coming on strong and he is worth a look as he fits the Progno mold ala Jaguars WR Ernest Wilford.

Not a big day for anyone here but the Lions running, perhaps with Artose Pinner, will be the difference.

Prediction: Lions 27 – Cardinals 20

Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday    1:00p

OK, here it is, the first time I don’t mention Chester Taylor in this column this year.  Darn, did it again.

Look for the Jaguars to have a better day on the ground than in the air.  If Fred Taylor can’t go look at Alvin Pearman to carry the load and do OK.  A tough day on tap for Byron Leftwich.  The Jaguars make up for it with some creative running.

Prediction: Jaguars 24 – Ravens 14

San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears        Sunday    1:00p

The 49’ers are in for a rough day.

Look for the Bears to primarily run the ball and for Cedric Benson to have a solid day.

Prediction: Bears 27 – 49’ers 14

Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants      Sunday    1:00p

This will be a shoot out as the passing game for both teams make solid plays.  Michael Bennett has the chance to surprise here too.

Prediction: Giants 24 – Vikings 21

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills        Sunday    1:00p

The Chiefs will pass well on the Bills and Larry Johnson will perform adequately as the full time starter.  Expect Tony Gonzalez to do well.

The Bills will run Willis McGahee till the Buffalo’s come home.

This will be the tightest game of the week and will come down to the last minute to decide the winner.

Prediction: Chiefs 25 – Bills 24

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins       Sunday    1:00p

The Patriots always play poorly in Miami and their defense is a shell of what it once was.  They dearly miss Richard Seymour and they will get better quickly upon his return.  A secondary wouldn’t hurt either but a good pass rush can make up for a bad secondary.  Right now the Patriots have neither.  Expect a big day from Corey Dillon.

Prediction: Patriots 27 – Dolphins 19

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts   Sunday    1:00p

The Colts won’t need much more than Edgerrin James in this as they run time off the clock.  Expect Dominic Rhodes to steal some of Edge’s stats as the game gets out of hand fairly rapidly and while I don’t suggest you play him, Rhodes will have a decent day as well.

Prediction: Colts 42 – Texans 17

New York Jets at Carolina Panthers    Sunday    4:05p

The Panthers have a solid team.  A solid playoff team as their schedule gets fairly easy the rest of the way.  Stephen Davis makes a solid play as he scores multiple times.  Look for the Panthers passing game with Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith to be alive and well.

The Panthers D are playing better and better and the Jets are playing worse and worse.  That is a bad combination for the Jets.

Prediction: Panthers 35 – Jets 17

Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders      Sunday    4:05p

This is one of the bloodiest rivalries in football.  The Broncos will run, primarily with Mike Anderson and the Raiders will pass, primarily with Kerry Collins.  Just a little humor.  Jerry Porter will step up once again as Randy Moss, even if he plays, will not be playing at full speed.

Raiders upset the Broncos even though the Broncos are playing better.

Prediction: Raiders 31 – Broncos 27

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks     Sunday    4:15p

A lot depends on whether Marc Bulger plays, if he does and Tory Holt finally comes back as expected, they will reminisce about old times and do well.  If not, the Rams will emphasize Stephen Jackson a little more.

The Seahawks are hot and boast one of the best offenses in the league.  Shaun Alexander walks away as the RB of the week and the Seahawks will impress in the air to boot.  Joe Jurevicius will make the box score a few times.

Prediction: Seahawks 37 – Rams 27

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons      Sunday    4:15p

The Packers will play a tough game but they won’t be able to handle the Atlanta defensive front.  Look for a vintage Brett Favre game as he plays well.  The Falcons will run Warrick Dunn well.

Prediction: Falcons 30 – Packers 27

Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday    4:15p

A tough and tight game as both teams have the same shot at winning this.  It will primarily be a contest of defenses and the Bucs will slow down the Redskins offense.  I’d be concerned starting anyone in this but it is hard to sit Santana Moss or Joey Galloway as both QB’s look their way often.

Prediction: Redskins 21 – Buccaneers 20

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers  Sunday    8:30p

The Browns will do OK in the air and Trent Dilfer will be better than poor which is what most would expect against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.  The Steelers will whip out a running game that will dominate all four quarters.  Expect a mix of Duce Staley and Willie Parker with Staley the better play.

Prediction: Steelers 29 – Browns 15

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles  Monday    9:00p

The Cowboys are hot and that will continue.  They are a very dangerous team right now and on Monday Night they will impress.  The Eagles are favored here but the Cowboys will be the better team the entire game.  Look for big things from the Cowboys in the air and some flashes on the ground.

The Eagles will pass to whomever they can find.  It simply isn’t enough though, as their offense is sadly one dimensional.

Prediction: Cowboys 27 – Eagles 20
