Welcome my fantasy brethren to another edition of The Prognosticator, may it be your saving grace. Let me just say, that it has been refreshing to not hear Roger Goodell’s name mentioned often, I think the owners must have instructed him to seek a lower public profile and they are spot-on right with that guidance. Let’s get back to a Commissioner that is seen and not heard. It was obvious that changes needed to be made in how Goodell wielded his power and I think very quietly, he received some guidance on how to represent his post publicly. When the consumer is distracted from the NFL’s core product on the field, it doesn’t take an economist to tell us that Goodell needed to stop being a distraction and rather, needed to start focusing on the shield. Time spent in a court room over some under-inflated footballs takes away from expansion into Europe, helping build the brand across the world, focusing on player protection schemes to reduce concussions, you know.. the stuff that really matters that helps to build and grow the assets of the NFL.
How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars – Thursday 8:25pm
This game was played last night. The Jaguars won 19 – 13.

Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins – Sunday 1:00pm
Both teams will move the ball. There won’t be big numbers from any individual, but there will be fantasy points to go around in this one. Where the game is decided is on defense and Miami has the edge there. Having Tony Romo on the sideline with Jason Garrett was just silly. The only thing Romo was missing was a cheerleader outfit.
Prediction: Miami Dolphins 27 – Dallas Cowboys 20
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Philadelphia Eagles – Sunday 1:00pm
The Bucs have been playing well enough to contend in football games these days. A terrific job by them to get their team back on track. One of the holes with the Eagles is in their run defense where a good running team (like Tampa can be with Doug Martin) can really cause some damage. Expect Tampa to be a little light in the passing/receiving department because of it.
Where the Eagles win this, however, is home field, nice balance, and perhaps surprisingly, Mark Sanchez. The season is getting on and Sanchez would very much like to audition for a starting role in the NFL — beginning now.

Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears – Sunday 1:00pm
This is going to be a tough game to watch. Chicago holds all the cards in this one with Denver coming into a hostile Soldier Field with their new shiny quarterback Brock Osweiler. Meanwhile, Matt Forte feels unloved with all the public talk revolving around “moving on” without him. There won’t be much in the way of fantasy production in this one. Expect below average days for most.

Prediction: Chicago Bears 27 – Denver Broncos 24
Oakland Raiders at Detroit Lions – Sunday 1:00pm
Now this is where you want to lay your hat. Two passing offenses going up against two very poor secondaries, the fantasy points will rain down on your team on Sunday from the stars in this game. The only area to steer clear of is the Lions ground game. Steer well clear of it. The Raiders win this simply because they will run the ball well and the Lions will not. Derek Carr and Matthew Stafford both are in line for a couple of really nice games.
