The Chargers just don’t seem to be the Chargers we thought they would
be. Sure, Shawn Merriman was the heart and soul of their defense and
that set them back but I’ll tell you what happened to the Chargers and
how they ended up here. One of the stories to the season has been how Ladainian Tomlinson
has lost a step, hasn’t been able to get it done and has left many fantasy
owners scratching their heads in 2008. The difference and why the
Chargers struggle in games is the loss of FB Lorenzo Neal. Ladainian Tomlinson has run behind Lorenzo Neal since the 2003 season and clearly misses what Lorenzo Neal
brought to the table. That’s not to blame the Chargers for letting Neal
get away as Neal is most definitely on the tail end of his career as he
is currently backing up and relieving Le’Ron McClain in Baltimore, the punishing ground game that is making a fantasy name out of Ray Rice. The FB never truly gets his dues.
