The Prognosticator – Week 16

In a game that will determine the number 1 seed in the NFC and home
field advantage throughout, it’s a game not to be missed. This game
will be sloppy as the current forecast is 100% chance of their being
rain and mixed precipitation at game time. The Panthers will run the
ball but will struggle in the air as the Giants can really get some
pressure on the QB. Expect a lot of short dump off passes from Jake Delhomme and for the Panthers, this is where they can’t compete. Jake Delhomme
is plenty able to hit guys short, in fact it’s a specialty, but the
Panthers don’t have a great group of guys to handle those less than 10
yard dink and dunk passes. If they had a Wes Welker
type player then they’d be unstoppable but since the Giants will take
away the long ball with their pass rush the Panthers will stumble here
and there trying to move the ball downfield. Their running game will be
fine and they’ll feature it but when it’s 3rd and 5 they’re going to
struggle.
