How to read the table: The table shows how a team will do Passing and Rushing in the upcoming week of the NFL. Red is HOT, Yellow is WARM, White is NORMAL, Light Blue is COLD and Dark Blue is FREEZING COLD. Play players from teams that are Red and Yellow, avoid players from teams that are Light or Dark Blue and expect average days from teams that are White.

All times are Eastern

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens – Thursday 8:25pm
This game has already been played as I write this. A Ravens victory was predicted and a complete white-washing of the Browns was expected but I thought the Browns could keep it within 10 points in a division rival game. The Browns actually led 7-6 at the half and put up an early fight, but then the wheels flew off and the usual train wreck happened.

Los Angeles Rams at New York Jets – Sunday 1:00pm
The Rams have been hanging tough and their defense has been a hot waiver-wire pickup this week in a matchup against a struggling Jets team that are having trouble throwing the ball. This is a tough match up for the Rams as they are on the road in a cold and hostile environment against a Jets team that knows how to do one thing really, really well, they can stop the run like nobody’s business! I don’t know what that means but you know what I mean! They’re good at stopping the run. The Rams have tried and tried to get Todd Gurley going and that won’t stop here but his usual ho-hum numbers are what to expect. What the Rams will be forced into is a lot more passing than they really want and that will not go as well as they would hope. The Jets will struggle here too, this will be an ugly game that you will be better off not wasting your time with but that Matt Forte guy can play and he alone will be the difference maker.

Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans – Sunday 1:00pm
The Titans taking San Diego to the edge last week in San Diego demonstrates what they are capable of. They’re better than I think many give them credit for and have been slowly progressing with the uptick in Marcus Mariota‘s play. Conversely, while I also say that the Packers are better than many give them credit for, they are in a funk as they are doing everything but winning games and this one turns into a very tough challenge for them. On the road in Tennessee is a tough place to play and the Titans running game will help keep the game close as they will be able to control the clock and dominate time of possession. The Packers will have their usual plethora of come from behind superhero completions but this is a tougher game for them than many will expect. They will keep it close, it’s close to a coin flip, but the Titans at home get over the hump and finally beat one of the better teams in the NFL.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars – Sunday 1:00pm
Throw everything away that has anything to do with passing the football in this contest and focus on both running games as they will be on display on Sunday. The Texans get a healthy Lamar Miller back and they want to run him hard to keep the ball out of Brock Osweiler‘s hands. The Jaguars have done nothing but focus on their ground game with the shift in offensive coordinators and they had a lot of success last week running both T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory. Expect both to run a little better this week as both teams push their ground games hard. Home team gets the edge in this “run off” competition. This game will end up being a fantasy trap for many as the fantasy stars are in the passing games of these two teams but the production won’t be there this week.

Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles – Sunday 1:00pm
For a polar opposite of a game, tune into the Falcons and Eagles as there will be scoring and there will be fantasy success to be had. Play what you own in this and reap the rewards as both teams will play well here. The Falcons will have the better fantasy days as you play what you can, but the Eagles at home make a feisty competitor. Put this game in Atlanta and the Falcons win every time but on the road, outdoors, with the temperature starting to dip, it gets tricky trying to cover all that the Eagles can throw at you. It took a while for the Eagles to find all their pieces but the shift to Darren Sproles and opening up Zach Ertz are moves designed to help Carson Wentz.

Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins – Sunday 1:00pm
It is just so hard to trust the Vikings right now, particularly on the road in Washington against an underrated defense that will play well here. The Vikings were tricky last week, using Stefon Diggs almost like a receiving running back and it worked (fantasy wise) because the Lions didn’t expect it but unless they have another trick up their sleeves, the Redskins will be ready for that trickery this week. It’s obvious what ails the Vikings and the Redskins will be ready. It is OK to get adventurous with your Redskin players here as flex or bye week replacements but think hard before you plug a Viking in this week.

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Sunday 1:00pm
Home field decides so many of the games this week. The Bears can absolutely win this one. Vegas has this at about even, which means they think the Bears are a touch better but Tampa makes up for that difference with a home field advantage. It is not a game you want to touch if you’re the wagering sort just because Jay Cutler can and should “go off” here to Alshon Jeffery, Zach Miller and if they are smart, Ka’Deem Carey in the passing game. Tampa Bay has a lot of issues in their secondary right now and the Bears will take advantage. It makes for an unsettling prediction just because of all the potential but Tampa Bay should be able to win both the Turnover and Time of Possession battles and will be able to methodically move the chains which should put them in position for the win. But all it will take is that one long bomb and the Bears win — so be careful. Leaving your Bears on the bench will be a mistake, don’t make that mistake.
