Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! I was watching Monday Night Football the other night, and as much as I loathe John Madden’s commentary, I’ve got to give it up to him for bringing up the fact about the horrendous job the Chiefs were doing at tackling. They were plain awful! It was like the defenders had spaghetti for arms, absolutely pitiful.
This past week’s Top Dawgs
DL Ty Warren NE Whenever Warren has a big game he seems to really have a big game. 7 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass-defensed, and 1 forced-fumble is a pretty good day at the office for Mr. Warren.
LB Will Witherspoon/Mark Fields CAR Both of these guys had big games this week. Witherspoon had 12 tackles, 1 assist, and 1 sack, while Fields had 11 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, and a forced-fumble. Good job guys!
DB Champ Bailey DEN Bailey had a field day playing against New Orleans. 11 tackles, 2 assists, 2 pass-defensed, and 1 int – yowza!
Seadog’s picks of the week
In lieu of the short week, I thought I’d take some time to mention some guys who have been heating up as of late. I’m sure most of you reading this are well in tune with most of these guys, but for those of you not quite well versed in IDP knowledge, or perhaps have written these players off for under-performing earlier in the year, here are some guys that deserve consideration if you are not presently playing them.
DL Robert Mathis IND vs. Detroit Mathis has been providing some good sack numbers for the Colts the past few weeks.
DL Patrick Kerney ATL vs. New Orleans Kerney was all-world at the beginning of the year, but then tailed off as injuries hit their line. Atlanta’s defensive line is starting to gel once again, so look for Kerney to bring it on the rest of the year.
DL Julius Peppers CAR vs. Tampa Bay After a slow start, Peppers has been putting up numbers that I would have expected from him at the beginning of the year.
LB Greg Favors JAX vs. Minnesota Favors is more of a pass-rush specialist, but lately he’s been getting some tackles as well to make some noise.
LB Keith Bullock TEN vs. Houston Bullock is a stud, but he’s been climbing the charts as the season has progressed.
LB James Farrior PIT vs. Washington Over the past 3 or 4 weeks, Farrior has quietly been putting up some very solid numbers.
DB Chris Gamble CAR vs. Tampa Bay Since mid-season, Gamble’s point production has been on the rise. Even though he’s a rookie and he’s a CB, I think he makes a solid play for the rest of the year.
DB Lawyer Milloy BUF vs. Seattle Milloy didn’t play the first part of the year due to injury. It looks like he might be making up for lost time.
DB Terrance McGee BUF vs. Seattle Didn’t I just mention a Buffalo defensive back? For those of you who get bonus points for kick returns, you need to grab this guy if you haven’t already. He’s putting up good tackle numbers as well as the bonus return points.
DB Madieu Williams CIN vs. Cleveland He’s been a bit erratic the past several weeks as far as point production goes, but this rookie has had a very good IDP year.
Thanks for reading – have a great Thankgiving!
