Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! Okay, lay it on me. I accept any and all ridicule for nominating Greg Favors last week as a good play. My reasoning was good, but the guy didn’t produce a point – not one stinking point. Unbelievable. We picked him up for our Hafax squad too, just for this week. That was a poor decision on my part. It certainly didn’t help the fact that we got knocked out of the playoffs this week. So close, but yet so far.
Speaking of Hafax, Favors was a speed bump in the road to our demise, but the real culprit was San Diego’s Donnie Edwards. He single-handedly scored 23% of the other team’s points all by his lonesome. Thanks a lot pal, why did you have to come on so strong these last couple of weeks. Take my Favor’s pick and stomp it into the ground why don’t you? (Insert deep sigh here).
On a bit of a side note, I keep talking about our Hafax team, and for those of you who aren’t familiar with it, it’s a team that Tony put together to do battle in a 16 team league made up of resident “experts” affiliated with some of the more well-known fantasy football sites out there on the web. It’s a very intense and extremely competitive league. We’ve done pretty well – last year we made it into round 1 of the playoffs and this year we made it to the final four. Tony, Doug Coutts, Mike Rumsey, Pat Smith, Greg Allen and yours truly make up the staff of our team, and from first hand experience, I’ve got to tell you that they are awesome. These guys really know their stuff. It’s been a privilege to be around them just to glean off of their knowledge and expertise. Thanks guys!
This past week’s Top Dawgs
Editor’s note: Normally, I try my hardest to put new faces up for my Top Dawgs every week. That didn’t happen this week – Freeney and Edwards captured it again!
DL Dwight Freeney IND 4 tackles and 3 sacks for the second week in a row. He’s on fire!
LB Donnie Edwards SD It’s killing me to put you on here Donnie Edwards, you one-man wrecking crew. Thanks for the help this week. ( 9 tackles, 7 assists, 4 pass-defensed, and 2 ints – one for a TD)
DB Michael Boulware SEA Going with my homer pick here this week. 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass-defensed, and 1 int – not bad for his first start.
