The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! Injuries, injuries, injuries – they are starting to take their toll in the realm of IDPs. If you’re team has been hit by the injury bug, keep track of the players that will be replacing the injured and stay on top of the waiver wire and you should be okay. Some of my recommendations in this week’s Report might be worth grabbing depending on your needs. Let’s get into it, shall we?

This past week’s Top Dawgs

DL Jared Allen KC 6 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries.

LB Cato June IND 5 tackles, 6 assists, 2 pass-defensed, and 2 int’s.

DB Kennoy Kennedy DET  10 tackles, 2 assists, 2 passes-defensed, 1 int, and 1 forced fumble.

Seadog’s picks of the week

DL Cornelius Griffin WAS vs. San Francisco Griffin is a force and is really the only DL that produces points from the Redskins. He’s playing well right now and I like him against the 49ers this week.

DL Aaron Schobel BUF vs. Oakland Schobel is one of those guys that puts up some serious points in bunches. He’s been kind of quiet this year, so far, but I think this is the week he gets hot.

DL Jared Allen KC vs. Miami All right, this guy is grabbing my attention now. Play him while he’s hot.

DL Indianapolis vs. Houston Unless you hear otherwise, feel free to play any defensive linemen against the sieve that is the Texan’s offensive line.

LB Morlon Greenwood HOU vs. Indianapolis Greenwood should be pretty active especially with the success the Colts have been having lately running Edgerrin James. With Wong out for the year, someone needs to pick up the slack.

LB Zach Thomas MIA vs. Kansas City  Every week Thomas is putting up the numbers. If you have the choice, don’t sit him.

LB Michael Boley ATL vs. New York Jets I mention Boley here, because he’s going to be the replacement for Hartwell. While he isn’t going to put up huge numbers, he might be a suitable grab off the waiver wire.

Speaking of waiver wire, it looks like LB Gary Brackett IND isn’t going to be playing this week because of a concussion. If he can’t go, then Rob Morris will be replacing him. Watch this situation closely.

DB Charles Woodson OAK vs. Buffalo Personally, I think Woodson is having one of his better years. Oakland is playing him some at safety as well as his normal CB position. If you haven’t already, now’s a good time to get on his bandwagon.

DB Sheldon Brown PHI vs. San Diego Brown was hot before his bye week last week. I think he continues to put up the points this week against the Chargers.

DB Marquand Manuel SEA vs. Dallas Manuel will be taking Ken Hamlin’s place on the Seattle defense. Hamlin was badly hurt in an off-field incident and is just coming out of intensive care, with potential career threatening injuries. I hope and pray that he will be okay, but it will be a while until he fully recovers.

Well, that wraps up this segment of the Seadog Report. Now I’d like to introduce a new feature that we are going to bring you this year. As you may or may not know, a twelve team IDP-only league has been started this year in the Sharktank. We call it “The Wall”. It is comprised of some IDP veterans as well as some IDP “newbies”. Regardless as to IDP background, these guys all know their way around fantasy football and are showing it in this league. We’d like for you to follow along with us this year to perhaps glean some insight into the wonderful world of IDPs (plus, it will give you a good chance to make fun of yours truly).

The Wall Report

(Due to some time constraints, as well as some after effects of some dental surgery, my normal rundown of the weekly contests in the Wall will be very abbreviated. Please check out the Wall thread in the Community League forum of the sharktank for some informal commentary of the different teams. ~Seadog)

A couple of blowouts this week as Paddler’s Destruction team and SJSwarm’s Feceflinger team really flexed their muscles. Team Panachevitz had a tremendous win, while the once mighty Gballs team hit a new low and dropped to .500 on the year. Speaking of which, what’s up with the parity in this league? So far there are only 2 clear cut frontrunners at the moment. It seems like on any given week any team can win.

Brooklyn Larceny, CleffedUp 179
Not-so-Snazzy Panachevitz, Panachevitz 187.5

Team GBalls, Gballs1 110
Weapons of Mass Destruction, Paddler 210.5

HAS A KILLER D (3-3) @ BUS (2-4)
Andre the Giant Has A Killer D, Dgack 171.5
The Hussy Bus , Hussy Bus 130

ROUGHNESS #42 (3-3) @ FECEFLINGERS (4-1-1)
Necessary Roughness #42, Johnnyballgame 145.5
Geriatric Feceflingers, SJSwarm 214.5

BEARS (3-3) @ WRECKS (3-3)
1985 Bears, SoCalIrishSports 163.5
Deck’s Wrecks, Decktard 142

SEADOG (3-3) @ CHARGERS (2-4)
Team Seadog, seadog 159
lt1800’s Chargers, lt1800 148
